The Sinfonietta Dresden is a chamber orchestra from Dresden founded in 1994. History The sinfonietta (orchestra), sinfonietta Dresden emerged in 1994 from the ''Young Dresden Chamber Orchestra''. The versatile ensemble performs works of choral symphonic and instrumental music from Baroque music to Neue Musik. A large number of world premieres of works by contemporary composers such as Herman Berlinski, , , Karsten Gundermann, , Uwe Krause (composer), Uwe Krause and bear witness to the chamber orchestra's commitment to Neue Musik. Lothar Voigtländer (born 3 September 1943) is a German composer. Life Voigtländer was born in Leisnig. He received his formative musical education between 1954 and 1962 as a choirboy and later as choir prefect in the Dresdner Kreuzchor under Rudolf Mauersberger. From 1961 to 1968 he studied conducting with Rolf Reuter and music composition with Fritz Geißler at the Leipzig Academy of Music and from 1970 to 1972 as a master student at the Akademie der Künste der DDR with Günter Kochan. Marilena Doinița Rotaru (known as Doina, also Nemţeanu-Rotaru; born 14 September 1951, Bucharest) is a Romanian composer best known for her orchestral and chamber works. She has won prizes from the Romanian Composers' Union seven times, and was awarded the Romanian Academy of Arts and Sciences prize in 1986. Christian Münch (born 11 April 1951) is a German composer, organist, pianist and conductor. Life Münch was born in Freiberg in 1951 in a cantor's family. With his father he learned trumpet and organ. Since his childhood he received piano and clarinet lessons at the music school in Freiberg. From 1971 to 1976 he studied musical composition with Manfred Weiss and Wilfried Krätzschmar, conducting with Rudolf Neuhaus and piano with Günter Händel at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber. Annette Schlünz (born 23 September 1964) is a German musician and composer. Biography Schlünz was born in Dessau, East Germany. She studied music at the Dresden Music School from 1983 to 1987 with Udo Zimmermann and at the Academy of Arts in Berlin from 1988 to 1991 with Paul-Heinz Dittrich.
