Jinnah Sindh Medical University (), formerly known as ''Sindh Medical College'', is a medical university in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It gained university status in June 2012. It currently has 11 constituent institutes and 35 Affiliated institutes. History Jinnah Sindh Medical University, formerly known as Sindh Medical College, started on April 7, 1973 after approval of a committee constituted by the Government of Sindh. Approximately 200 students were admitted to their first year of a MBBS in 1973. Khawaja Moin Ahmed was appointed as the first principal of the college. The college initially began working in the pediatrics ward of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, which had been the army barracks since 1865 and was given to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in 1959. Dow International Medical College
Dow International Medical College () is a government-owned public sector medical college in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, which is recognised by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). Admittance is limited to 150 students per year. It is a constituent college of Dow University of Health Sciences,. In Pakistan, a medical school is more often referred to as a medical college. A medical college is affiliated with a university as a department which usually has a separate campus. As of January 2019, there are a total of 114 medical colleges in Pakistan, 44 of which are public and 70 private. All but two colleges are listed in International Medical Education Directory. As per Pakistan Medical Commission 2021 database, there are 176 medical colleges in Pakistan (Medical and Dental Colleges), including 45 public sector and 72 private sector medical colleges. Asim Shahmalak
Asim Shahmalak (born 2 April 1961) is a British hair transplant surgeon and broadcaster. Shahmalak began his career as a general surgeon in the Republic of Ireland in 1990, he joined the National Health Service (NHS) as a specialist doctor in general surgery in 2001, practising until 2011 when he dedicated himself full-time to private hair transplant surgery at his own Crown Clinic. Shaista Lodhi () is a Pakistani television host, and actress. Early life and education Shaista Lodhi was born in Karachi to Ali Gohar Lodhi and Roshan Taj Lodhi. Muhammad Farooq Sattar (; born 9 April 1959) is a Pakistani politician who is the Senior Deputy Convenor of the MQM-P. Imran Farooq (; 14 June 1960 – 16 September 2010) was a British-Pakistani politician best known senior role in the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), a political party in Pakistan.
