Since Yesterday (film)
''Since Yesterday'' is a 2024 Scottish documentary film. It tells the story of the women who pioneered as members of All-female band, all-girl bands in Scotland from the 1960s-2010s and asks the questions 'why are they not remembered?' and 'what would have happened if they were?'. It takes a critical look at the structural barriers and risks female musicians face in the music industry. Themes and funding Focusing on the celebration of girl-bands and their importance to cultural history and emphasizing the value of togetherness and female solidarity, the film also shines a light on the latent misogyny the women experienced. The film features interviews and personal anecdotes, reflections and archival performance clips from many of the artists and is narrated by Carla Easton of Teen Canteen The film was funded with support from Screen Scotland and a crowd-sourced campaign. Lung Leg (band)
Lung Leg are a Scottish pop-punk/indie music, indie band formed in 1994 and disbanding in 1999. They emerged as part of a new wave of bands from the Glasgow DIY underground scene. Originally an all-female band, all female quartet, their musical style has been described variably as riot grrrl or ''garage rock, garage-pop''. They were influenced by post-punk, C86 (music), C86, and the Fire Engines. Lung Leg re-formed in 2021 with a sold out reunion gig at The Baby Grand, Glasgow in December 2022 to critical acclaim supported by ''Bis (Scottish band), bis''. They are featured in the award winning 2024 documentary ''Since Yesterday (film), Since Yesterday : The Untold Story'' and consequently performed ''Maid to Minx'' live on BBC Radio 4's Front Row with Kirsty Wark in October 2024. As of 2025, they are writing new material. Recent shows include supporting Washington band Make-Up (American band), The Make Up in 2023.
