''Sin Remitente'' (also known as ''Return to Sender'' and ''Sender Unknown'') is a 1995 Mexican drama film written and directed by Carlos Carrera. The film was entered into the main competition at the 52nd edition of the Venice Film Festival. It also won three Ariel Awards, for best picture, best direction and best actor. Carlos Carrera (born 18 August 1962) is a Mexican film director and screenwriter. He directed ''El crimen del Padre Amaro'' (2002), which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. In 2009, he directed ''Backyard'' about the female homicides in Ciudad Juárez, which won a silver plaque at the 2009 Chicago International Film Festival. Ignacio Ortiz is a Mexican painter and teacher noted for his depictions of women and his work in the development of the fine arts program at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. He began his career at the same university as a student, with advanced studies in Europe.
