Simu Liu ( ; ; born 19 April 1989) is a Canadian actor. He is known for portraying Shang-Chi in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe film '' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings''. He also played Jung Kim in the CBC Television sitcom '' Kim's Convenience'' and received nominations at the ACTRA Awards and Canadian Screen Awards for his work in '' Blood and Water''. Anastase Simu
Anastase Simu (25 March 1854 – 28 February 1935) was a Romanian art collector. Born in Brăila, he had two brothers and three sisters. While the genealogical record is incomplete, it appears that his father Panait was a native of Epirus, part of the city's powerful Greek community, and ran a candle factory with his brother. After attending the Brăila Commercial School, Simu obtained a baccalaureate from the Theresianum in Vienna. He then took two university degreees: in law from the University of Paris, and in political science and administration from the Free University of Brussels.Rusu, p. 488 For a time, he was secretary at the Romanian legation in Berlin. Ioan Simu (June 27, 1875–June 22, 1948) was an Austro-Hungarian-born Romanian Greek-Catholic priest and politician. Biography Origins, early activity and World War I Born in the village of Ciufud, in Alsó-Fehér County, part of the Transylvania region in Austria-Hungary (now Alba County, Romania), Simu studied in the nearby town of Blaj. He married Eugenia Ciura, the daughter of a Greek-Catholic priest from Abrud, and was himself ordained to the priesthood in 1898. The couple had six daughters and a son. While still a student, Simu was charged with agitation against the Hungarian state after singing the Romanian patriotic song “ Deșteaptă-te, române!” as part of a choir. He was fined and spent four months imprisoned at Szeged. Simu began his activity as a priest in 1900, at Abrud. Margareta Simu
Margareta Simu (born 2 May 1953 in Västerås) is a Swedish former racewalking athlete. She competed three times at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup and was the winner in 1975 and bronze medallist in 1977. On her last appearance in 1979 she placed eighth. Simu broke world racewalking records several times. She set a 10 km walk world record of 51:01 minutes in 1972, finally improving on Stina Lindberg's near-30-year-old time. She bettered this to 49:04 minutes in 1976 and again to 48:53 minutes in 1978. Norwegian Thorill Gylder took that honour away from her in 1978 with a new best of 48:40 minutes. Simu's time of 1:47:10 hours, set in 1973, was a 20 km walk world record for nearly four years. She also broke the world indoor record for the 3000 m on four occasions (between 1974 and 1978).
