Simon Wheeler is a British screenwriter A screenplay writer (also called screenwriter, scriptwriter, scribe or scenarist) is a writer who practices the craft of screenwriting, writing screenplays on which mass media, such as films, television programs and video games, are based. ... and television producer. He is best known for creating the ITV1 drama '' Kingdom'', which starred Stephen Fry and Wheeler's wife, Hermione Norris. He has also written for the crime series '' Wire in the Blood'', which formerly starred Norris. In 2013, he produced the BBC miniseries '' Castles in the Sky'' with Eddie Izzard. Family Wheeler is one of the three sons of General Sir Roger Wheeler. He and Norris have two children together: Wilf, born June 2004, and Hero, born August 2007. Kingdom (2007 TV Series)
''Kingdom'' is a British television series produced by Parallel Film and Television Productions for the ITV network. It was created by Simon Wheeler and stars Stephen Fry as Peter Kingdom, a Norfolk solicitor who is coping with family, colleagues, and the strange locals who come to him for legal assistance. The series also starred Hermione Norris, Celia Imrie, Karl Davies, Phyllida Law and Tony Slattery. The first series of six one-hour episodes was aired in 2007 and averaged six million viewers per week. Despite a mid-series ratings dip, the executive chairman of ITV praised the programme and ordered a second series, which was filmed in 2007 and broadcast in January and February 2008. Filming on the third series ran from July to September 2008 for broadcast from 7 June 2009. Stephen Fry
Stephen John Fry (born 24 August 1957) is an English actor, broadcaster, comedian, director and writer. He first came to prominence in the 1980s as one half of the comic double act Fry and Laurie, alongside Hugh Laurie, with the two starring in '' A Bit of Fry & Laurie'' (1989–1995) and '' Jeeves and Wooster'' (1990–1993). Hermione Norris
Hermione Jane Norris (born 5 December 1966) is an English actress. She attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in the 1980s, before taking small roles in theatre and on television. In 1996, she was cast in her breakout role of Karen Marsden in the comedy drama television series ''Cold Feet''. She appeared in every episode of the series from 1998 to 2003 and was nominated for a British Comedy Award. ''Wire in the Blood'' is a British crime drama television series, created and produced by Coastal Productions for Tyne Tees Television and broadcast on ITV from 14 November 2002 to 31 October 2008. Roger Wheeler (British Army Officer)
General Sir Roger Neil Wheeler, (born 16 December 1941) is a retired British Army officer who served as Chief of the General Staff from 1997 to 2000. During his career he was involved in the Cyprus Emergency, directed military operations in Northern Ireland and led the UK's forces deployed on NATO operations in Bosnia.
