Simon Harris (musician)
Simon Harris is a British music producer, DJ, remixer and electronic musician from London predominantly known for his 1988 hit song "Bass (How Low Can You Go?)". He is also the founder of the hip hop label Music of Life and the producer of most of its catalogue of songs. Biography Harris started as a mobile DJ in the Chigwell, Essex area in 1977 and became known for his mixing. In 1979, he became a DJ at Radio Forest Hospital Radio and promoted disco events featuring Capital Radio DJs. In 1981, Harris met Froggy at one of these events and the two then formed a mixing team which resulted in a succession of releases including the 1987 "Decade Remix" of " You to Me Are Everything" by the Real Thing which became a top 10 UK hit. A remix, also sometimes called reorchestration or rework, is a piece of media which has been altered or contorted from its original state by adding, removing, or changing pieces of the item. A song, piece of artwork, book, poem, or photograph can be remixes. The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new. Demon Boyz
The Demon Boyz were an English hip hop group formed in London by Demon D, Mike J, and DJ Devastate. They began rapping in their early teens, performing with Twilight Soul Sound. They won a competition on a Dave Pearce rap show, which brought them fame, and their prize was to perform live onstage with Derek B, Faze One, and T La Rock at a Camden Palace gig. Derek B (also known as Derek Boland) was the A&R man for Music of Life. He put them in touch with the company’s founder, Simon Harris. History The group assisted the label, The Twilight Firm, in recording the song "This Is a Jam" for the inaugural release of the label's classic series, ''Hard as Hell'' (Music of Life, 1987). Dave Pearce
David Alistair Pearce (born 14 June 1963) is an English dance DJ, EDM producer and broadcaster, who has performed across the United Kingdom and the world. He previously presented ''Dance Anthems'' on BBC Radio 1 for ten years. Gary Haisman (29 January 1958 – 28 November 2018) was an English singer and one of three acts whose No. 1 songs on the ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart were featured on D Mob's '' A Little Bit of This, a Little Bit of That'' album (the others being Cathy Dennis and LRS). FFRR
FFRR Records (sometimes credited as Full Frequency Range Recordings) is a dance music label founded as a subsidiary of London Records in 1986, with A&R run by the British DJ Pete Tong. Originally a part of London Records' label roster, FFRR is currently a sublabel of Parlophone, a division of Warner Music Group. Its activities were mostly halted in the early 2000s, until the label was revived in 2011. Its catalog was sold off in 2017, but the label was revived a second time in 2021, this time with a new identity.
