Simon Hammer
Simon Hammer (born 2 March 1983) is a Danish handball player. He grew up in Rødding, Viborg Municipality, but switched to the Copenhagen-based club FCK when he was 19. He has previously played for another league side HF Mors, and joined FCK Håndbold at the age of 19. Until 2005 he played part time for the club while studying at Niels Brocks Handelsskole. He played professionally full time for a short while, but according to himself he was bored with the lack of working hours, and thus starting working in banking simultaneously with the handball career. In 2010 he won the Danish cup with FCK Håndbold, when they beat Bjerringbro-Silkeborg 31-30 in the final. Viborg Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Midtjylland on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. F.C. Copenhagen Handball (or simply FCK Handball) was a Danish handball team, playing in Copenhagen. They had both a male and a female team, both playing in the best Danish leagues, the Danish Handball League (men) and Danish Women's Handball League (women). Frederiksberg Idræts-Forening, often just called Frederiksberg IF or FIF is a Danish sports club based in Frederiksberg. The club has teams in many different sports, but is most famous for its handball team. The men's team is currently playing in the second tier, Danish 1st Division. The official fan group is called FIF Ultras. History The club was founded on 24 February 1913, while the handball department was founded in 1935. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a Handball goalkeeper, goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. Danish Men's Handball Cup
The Danish Men's Handball cup () is the nationwide cup tournament for men's handball teams in Denmark. It’s also known as Santander Cup for sponsorship reasons. The competition has been played annually since 1964. Tournament structure The initial fase of the tournament is split in two. They are managed by the three regional federations, Jydsk Håndbold Forbund (JHF) in Jutland, and Håndboldregion Øst (HRØ) in Sealand together with Fyns Håndbold Forbund (FHF) in fyn. The western half of the initial tournament lasts 7 rounds, while the eastern half lasts 6 round. After the initial fase the DHF taking over the tournament at the round of 16. At the round of 16 and onwards, there are no longer geographical considerations, when drawing the matches.
