Simon Fox
Simon Andrew David Fox (12 July 1949 – 12 September 2024) was an English rock drummer, who played in different rock bands during the 1970s and the 1980s, most notably the progressive rock group Be-Bop Deluxe. His earliest band was Hackensack, during the 1970s. He was a session player before joining Be-Bop Deluxe, in 1974, with whom he played on four studio albums, ''Futurama'' (1975), '' Sunburst Finish'' (1976), '' Modern Music'' (1976) and ''Drastic Plastic'' (1978), and one live album, ''Live! in the Air Age'' (1977). The band split up in 1978, shortly after the release of ''Drastic Plastic''. After Be-Bop Deluxe, he played in Trevor Rabin's band, touring with them in Britain. Later, he joined Blazer Blazer, along with bassist Steve Barnacle (later in Visage), with whom he toured extensively in 1979 and 1980. They released just one single, "Cecil B. Devine", in 1979. Glam Rock
Glam rock is a style of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s and was primarily defined by the flamboyant clothing, makeup, and hairstyles of its musicians, particularly platform shoes and glitter. Glam artists drew on diverse sources, ranging from bubblegum pop and 1950s rock and roll to cabaret, science fiction, and complex art rock.P. Jack Green (musician)
Jack Green (12 March 1951 – 18 April 2024) was a Scottish musician and songwriter. Biography Green played with T. Rex between 1973 and 1974, then with Pretty Things between 1974 and 1976, recording '' Silk Torpedo'' and '' Savage Eye''. After Phil May walked out on the Pretty Things he carried on with Peter Tolson, Gordon Edwards and Skip Alan in Metropolis. He also was a member of Rainbow for three weeks in late 1978. In 1980, he launched a solo career with the album '' Humanesque''. This included the single "This is Japan" which peaked at number 35 in Australia. The album generated multiple hits, particularly "Babe", in the Canadian province of Alberta, but not the rest of the country: "You couldn't find his record with a search warrant outside of Alberta. Mik Kaminski
Michael Kaminski (born 2 September 1951) is an English musician. He played violin in the rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) between 1973 and 1980 and toured with the band from 1981 to 1986. He was a member of Electric Light Orchestra Part II from 1991 until its end in 2000, and then The Orchestra from 2000. Early life Kaminski was born in Harrogate, North Riding of Yorkshire, England. He made his first professional performance with the Leeds Orchestra when he was 14. During his time at the Leeds School of Music, he founded the band Cow, together with his friends John Hodgson, who played drums, and John Marcangelo, who played keyboards and other percussion. Career In 1973, he joined Joe Soap and played violin on their ''Keep It Clean'' album. Their producer Sandy Roberton suggested Kaminski to Andy Roberts, who needed a violinist for his album. Kelly Groucutt
Kelly Groucutt (born Michael William Groucutt; 8 September 1945 – 19 February 2009) was an English musician best known as the bassist and secondary vocalist for the rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) between 1974 and 1982. Early career Groucutt was born in Coseley, West Midlands. He began his musical career at 15 as Rikki Storm of Rikki Storm and the Falcons. He sang with multiple outfits during the 1960s, picking up the guitar as he went along. Groucutt was also a member of a band called "Sight and Sound", and later with a band called "Barefoot". Electric Light Orchestra
The Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1970 by multi-instrumentalists Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood and drummer Bev Bevan. Their music is characterised by a fusion of pop and classical arrangements with futuristic iconography. After Wood's departure in 1972, Lynne became the band's sole leader, arranging and producing every album while writing nearly all of their original material. During their first run from 1970 to 1986, Lynne and Bevan were the group's only consistent members. The group's name is a pun that references both electric light and "light orchestral music", a popular style featured in places such as the BBC Light Programme between the 1940s and 1960s. Pretty Things were an English Rock music, rock band formed in September 1963 in Sidcup, Kent, taking their name from Bo Diddley's 1955 song "Pretty Thing", and active in their first incarnation until 1971. They released five studio albums, including the debut ''The Pretty Things (album), The Pretty Things'' (UK Albums Chart #6) and ''S. F. Visage (band)
Visage were a British New wave music, new wave pop band formed in London in 1978. The band became closely linked to the burgeoning New Romanticism, New Romantic fashion movement of the early 1980s, and are best known for their hit "Fade to Grey (Visage song), Fade to Grey" which was released in late 1980. In the UK, the band achieved two Top 20 albums (''Visage (Visage album), Visage'' and ''The Anvil (album), The Anvil'') and five Top 30 singles before the commercial failure of their third album (''Beat Boy'') led to their breakup in 1985. The band saw various line-up changes over the years, all fronted by vocalist Steve Strange, who resurrected the band name in the 2000s.
