Simon Doull
Simon Blair Doull (born 6 August 1969) is a New Zealand radio personality, commentator and former international cricketer. He was a right-arm medium pacer, who was capable of swing bowling. He was plagued by injuries as a result of which his international career was cut short. Playing for the New Zealand national cricket team, he figured in just 32 Tests and 42 ODIs, taking 98 and 36 wickets respectively. Doull's finest hour arrived when he took 7–65 against India in the Boxing Day Wellington Test in 1998. He played his last Test, against Australia, in March 2000 before turning to commentary and broadcasting. He is the younger brother of Lincoln Doull, who played for Wellington in the early 1990s. Doull took his career best bowling figures of 7 for 65 in the Boxing Day Test in 1998 against India at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. Pukekohe is a town in the Auckland Region of the North Island of New Zealand. ICC Player Rankings
The International Cricket Council player rankings is a widely followed system of rankings for international cricketers based on their recent performances. The current sponsor is MRF Tyres who signed a 4-year deal with the ICC that will last until 2020. The ratings were developed at the suggestion of Ted Dexter in 1987. The intention was to produce a better indication of players' current standing in the sport than is provided by comparing their averages. Career averages are based on a player's entire career and do not make any allowance for match conditions or the strength of the opposition, whereas the ratings are weighted towards recent form and account for match conditions and the quality of the opponent using statistical algorithms. Initially the rankings were for Test cricket only, but separate One Day International rankings were introduced in 1998. Radio Sport (previously Sports Roundup) was a New Zealand sports radio radio network, network and the talk radio, talkback sister network of Newstalk ZB.
