Simon Britto Rodrigues
Simon Britto Rodrigues (27 March 1954 – 31 December 2018) was an Indian politician and writer. He was an Anglo-Indian member in the Kerala Legislative Assembly during the term of Left Democratic Front government from 2006 to 2011. Early life Simon Britto Rodrigues was born to Nichlos Rodrigues and Irin Rodrigues on 27 March 1954, in Pongikkara, Ernakulam District, Kerala. Britto was an active member of Students' Federation of India (SFI), he was a former student of St. Albert's College, Ernakulam, Government Law College, Ernakulam, Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, Lalit Narayan Mithila University in his college days during the '80s. Mulavukad
Mulavukad, also known locally as Bolgatty Island, is one of the islands that forms part of the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. It is in the Mulavukad Grama Panchayat. Vypin Island and Vallarpadam Island lie to its west, while Vaduthala lies to its east. Mulavukad is connected to mainland Ernakulam & Vallarpadam by the Goshree bridges and to the Container Terminal Road on its northern side, providing access to Kalamassery and Aluva. The Bolgatty Palace is located at the southern tip of the island. Demographics At the 2001 India census, Mulavukad had a population of 22,845. Males constituted 49% of the population and females 51%. The Communist Party of India (CPI) is a political party in India. The CPI considers the December 26, 1925 Cawnpore (Kanpur) conference as its foundation date. Between 1946 and 1951, the CPI led militant struggles such as the peasant revolt in Telangana, organising guerrilla warfare against feudal lords. The CPI was the main opposition party in India during the 1950s to 1960s. In 1964, a split in the CPI led to the formation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), which eventually emerged as the larger of the two parties. CPI supported the rule of Indira Gandhi, but later changed course and embraced left unity. CPI was part of the ruling United Front government from 1996 to 1998 and had two ministers under Devegowda and Gujral Ministry.
