Simeon Toluwani Borokini is a Nigerian public speaker, politician and humanitarian. He is a member and Whip of the Ondo State House of Assembly representing Akure South Constituency 1. Early life His parents were Rt. Reverend and Mrs. Simeon Oluwole Borokini. He was born in the year 1986 in Akure South Local Government of Ondo State . He attended Annunciation Nursery and Primary School and Bishop Falope Memorial Day Care Nursery and Primary School in Akure. Toluwani proceeded to St. Matthias Anglican High School in Akure and earned a Diploma in Computer Data Processing before attending Adeyemi College of Education to study English. Akure
Akure is a city in south-western Nigeria. It is the capital and largest city of Ondo State. The city had a population of 403,000 as at the 2006 population census. Ondo State House Of Assembly
The Ondo State House of Assembly is the legislative branch of the Ondo State Government inaugurated on February 3, 1979. The assembly is unicameral with 26 representatives elected from each constituencies of the 18 local government area of the state. In 2011, the assembly consists of two political parties, LP and the PDP but the assembly was dominated by the Labour party with a total number of 25 representative and the PDP with only one representative. Whip (politics)
A whip is an official of a political party whose task is to ensure party discipline in a legislature. This means ensuring that members of the party vote according to the party platform, rather than according to their own individual ideology or the will of their donors or constituents. Whips are the party's "enforcers". They try to ensure that their fellow political party legislators attend voting sessions and vote according to their party's official policy. Members who vote against party policy may "lose the whip", being effectively expelled from the party.
