Silvestro Dei Gherarducci
Silvestro dei Gherarducci (c. 1339 – c. 1399) was an Italian painting, painter and illuminated manuscript, illuminator in Florence. He became a monk and later a Prior (ecclesiastical), prior of the monastery of Church of St. Mary of the Angels, Florence, Santa Maria degli Angeli where he first started work on illustrations for manuscripts. The Laurentian Library (Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana or BML) is a historic library in Florence, Italy, containing more than 11,000 manuscripts and 4,500 early printed books.
