Silverstone Autosport BRDC Award
The Silverstone Autosport BRDC Award is an award set up in 1989, following the demise of the Grovewood Awards, to reward and recognise young racing drivers from the UK. As its names suggest, the award is backed by Silverstone, motorsport magazine Autosport, and the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC). As well as the prestige of winning the award, a test drive in an Aston Martin Formula One car and £200,000 – increased from £50,000 in 2010 – cash prize, the award winner is also presented with the Chris Bristow Trophy. McLaren ended its longstanding partnership with the accolade in January 2019, and was replaced by Aston Martin. The 2019 winner received a test in a Red Bull Racing car at Silverstone, as Aston Martin was the team's sponsor, and test in an FIA World Endurance Championship Aston Martin Vantage GTE car. Grovewood Awards
The Grovewood Awards (later becoming the Cellnet Awards and then the McLaren Autosport BRDC Awards) were a series of British motor racing awards presented each year in the United Kingdom to the year's up-and-coming British and Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth racing drivers. The monetary award recipients were selected by a judging panel appointed by the UK's Guild of Motoring Writers. History The awards were inaugurated in 1963 by John Webb of Grovewood Securities, with the intention of providing monetary assistance for promising young British and Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth motor racing drivers. Grovewood, the owners of four racing circuits in the UK, wanted to recognise and foster young racing talent. In 1987 the awards were taken over by Cellnet and became known as the ''Cellnet Awards''. 1993 International Formula 3000 Season

Oliver Benjamin Gavin (born 29 September 1972) is a British racing driver who joined Corvette Racing in 2002. He has won five American Le Mans Series class championships, five 24 Hours of Le Mans class wins, six 12 Hours of Sebring class wins and five Petit Le Mans class wins. Philip Bate (racing Driver)
Philip Argall Turner Bate (1909–1999) was a musicologist, broadcaster and collector of musical instruments. Early life and education Bate was born in Glasgow on 26 March 1909. His father, Percy Herbert Bate, was secretary to the Glasgow Museum of Arts. His mother, Mary Turner, was a keen musician who played piano and violin and sang in Charles Sanford Terry's Bach Choir in Aberdeen. His father did not like music in the house, but allowed him to sing nursery rhymes accompanied by his mother at the piano. His father became curator of Aberdeen's Municipal Art Gallery and Museum and died when Philip was four. During his attendance at Aberdeen Grammar School Bate heard a schools concert given by the Scottish Orchestra and was inspired to learn to play the clarinet. Masters Of Formula 3
The Masters of Formula 3 was a Formula Three race held annually, usually at the Circuit Park Zandvoort in the Netherlands. Due to noise restrictions in the Zandvoort area, the 2007 and 2008 races were held in the Belgian circuit of Circuit Zolder, Zolder. However, it returned to Zandvoort for the 2009 race. The Masters was first started in 1991, as an international meeting between drivers from various national championships across Europe. As the FIA European Formula Three Cup had been cancelled after the 1990 season, the Masters became the unofficial European F3 championship. Gareth Rees (motorsport Commentator)
Gareth Rees (born 12 March 1969) is a Welsh motorsport commentator. He has commentated on a wide variety of series, including Champ Car, IndyCar, the World Series, Formula 3000, Euro 3000, DTM and GP2. Rees has worked for both British Eurosport and Motors TV. Following the birth of his first child, Rees considered scaling back his media work in order to spend more time with his family. Having decided to continue covering GP2, Rees was informed by British Eurosport that they had lost the broadcasting rights for the 2008 season to rival ITV.
