Silverchair Songs
Silverchair was an Australian rock band, which formed in 1992 as Innocent Criminals in Newcastle, New South Wales, with Daniel Johns on vocals and guitars, Ben Gillies on drums, and Chris Joannou on bass guitar. The group got their big break in mid-1994 when they won a national demo competition conducted by SBS TV show ''Nomad'' and ABC radio station Triple J. The band was signed by Murmur and were successful in Australia and internationally. Silverchair has sold over 10 million albums worldwide. Silverchair have won more ARIA Music Awards than any other artist in history, earning 21 wins from 49 nominations. They also received six APRA Awards, with Johns winning three songwriting awards in 2008. Daniel Paul Johns (born 22 April 1979) is an Australian musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the Lead vocalist, frontman, guitarist, and main songwriter of the Rock music, rock band Silverchair. Johns is also one half of The Dissociatives with Paul Mac and one half of Dreams with Luke Steele (musician), Luke Steele. On March 13, 2015 Johns released his first solo EP ''Aerial Love, Aerial Love'' and on March 22, 2015, he released his first solo LP ''Talk (Daniel Johns album), Talk''. Johns' second solo album ''FutureNever'' was released on 22 April 2022. In 2007, Johns was ranked at number 18 on ''Rolling Stone''s list of The 25 Most Underrated Guitarists. ''Diorama'' is the fourth studio album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair, released on 31 March 2002 by Atlantic/Eleven. It won the 2002 ARIA Music Award for Best Group and Best Rock Album. The album was co-produced by Daniel Johns and David Bottrill. While Bottrill had worked on albums for a variety of other bands, ''Diorama'' marked the first production credit for lead singer Johns. Johns wrote most of the album at the piano instead of his usual guitar, while the band took a 12-month break following their previous studio album, ''Neon Ballroom''. ''Neon Ballroom'' is the third studio album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair, released in March 1999 by record labels Murmur and Epic. The songs " Anthem for the Year 2000", " Ana's Song (Open Fire)" and " Miss You Love" were released as singles and a short film was released for the song " Emotion Sickness". ''Freak Show'' is the second studio album by Australian rock band Silverchair. It was released on 4 February 1997 by record labels Murmur and Epic. It was nominated for the 1997 ARIA Music Award for Best Group, but lost to Savage Garden. Recording and production Silverchair began recording their second studio album, ''Freak Show'', in May 1996 while experiencing the success of their debut album, 1995's ''Frogstomp'', in Australia and the United States. ''Frogstomp'' is the debut studio album by Australian Rock music, rock band Silverchair. It was released on 27 March 1995, when the band members were only 15 years of age, by record label Murmur (record label), Murmur. The album features the band's most commercially successful single, "Tomorrow (Silverchair song), Tomorrow", which was first released on the band's extended play of the same name six months earlier on 16 September 1994. Music videos were made for the album's four singles: "Tomorrow", "Pure Massacre", "Israel's Son", and "Shade (Silverchair song), Shade". Triple J
Triple J is an Australian government-funded national radio station founded in 1975 as a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). It aims to appeal to young listeners of alternative music, and plays far more Australian content than commercial networks. The station was set up under the Gough Whitlam government, wanting to extend the appeal of the ABC to young Australians. Initially broadcasting as 2JJ or Double Jay from 19 January 1975, it stood apart from commercial stations with its lack of private advertising and its fringe music programming.
