Silver Line (K-Rail)
The Silver Line is a proposed higher-speed rail line in India that would connect Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city, and Kasaragod, in Kerala state. It will have an operating speed of , Maximum Design Speed: , structures designed for allowing trains to cover the distance in less than four hours, compared to the present 10 to 12 hours it takes to traverse this distance. Silverline was an American contemporary Christian music band from Brainerd, Minnesota. They were on the Dream Records label and broke up in 2015. Background Silverline is from Brainerd, Minnesota, and formed in 2006. Music EPs The band released two independent EPs called ''Silverline'' in 2007 and ''EP'' in 2008, and they released two with VSR Music Group. The first was called "Start to Believe" and produced their breakout single "Get It Right". The second EP, titled "Voices in the Night", was even more successful and charted at No. 73 on the Christian & Gospel Albums chart by ''Billboard''. As of 1 October 2019 The Silver Line joined forces with Age UK to help more of the older people who are struggling with loneliness and isolation. The Silver Line is a subsidiary of Age UK. Silver Line (shipping Company)
The Silver Line was a shipping company formed in 1908, part of the British Merchant Navy. By the 1930s they were offering round the world passenger/cargo services, with the passenger fare on a freighter being £100. Entirely on foreign service, the ships did not include UK ports of call. Managing owners were the S & J Thompson family. Most of their merchant ships bore the name Silver followed by the name of a tree. The Second World War claimed 11 of their ships. One of them, the ''Silverfir'', was sunk by the German battleship on a voyage from Manchester to New York in 1941. Silver Line switched to tramping around the world in the 1950s, then went through several ownership changes, and by 1985, with the sale of their last ship, was no more. The ''Silverplane'', a sleek twin funnel vessel of 7,226 gross tons built in 1948, was sold to the Cunard Line in 1951 and renamed ''Alsatia II'', and so was her sister ship ''Silverbriar'', to become ''Andria I''. Line 7 is a new rapid transit line due to open on the Santiago Metro, in 2027. Intended to relieve the busy Line 1, the Line 7 will start in Renca in the northwest, passing through the city center, before ending in the borders of Las Condes and Vitacura in the northeast. The Silver Line is a line on the Pittsburgh Light Rail system that runs between Downtown Pittsburgh through the Overbrook neighborhood to Library. It is the renamed service for the former Blue Line –Library branch. The E Embarcadero is a historic streetcar line that is the San Francisco Municipal Railway's second heritage streetcar line in San Francisco, California. Trial service first ran during the Sunday Streets events on The Embarcadero in 2008. The line initially ran on weekends only, but expanded to weeklong service in late April 2016. In March 2020, the line was suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and as of 2024, the line is still not operating. The J Line (formerly the Silver Line, sometimes listed as line 910/950) is a bus rapid transit line that runs between El Monte, downtown Los Angeles and the Harbor Gateway, with some trips continuing to San Pedro. It is one of the two lines in the Metro Busway system operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). The J Line offers frequent, all-stops service along the El Monte Busway and the Harbor Transitway, two grade-separated transit facilities built into the Southern California freeway system.
