Silver Lake (Lanark–Frontenac)
Silver Lake (french: lac Silver) is a lake in Tay Valley, Lanark County, and Central Frontenac, Frontenac County, in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is the source of Silver Lake Creek and is in the Ottawa River drainage basin. Geography Silver Lake has an area of and lies at an elevation of It is long and wide. Approximately the western two-thirds of the lake is in Central Frontenac, and the eastern third in Tay Valley. Ontario Highway 7 runs along the southern shore of the lake, which leads to the community of Maberly, by road along Highway 7 to the east; it along with the dispersed rural community of Zealand, northwest of the lake, are the two nearest communities. Perth is a town in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is located on the Tay River, southwest of Ottawa, and is the seat of Lanark County. History The town was established as a military settlement in 1816, shortly after the War of 1812. The settlement of Lanark County began in 1815. In that year "the Settlement forming on the Rideau River" as it was officially referred to (and which soon became known as "Perth Military Settlement") began to function under Military direction. The settlement was named Perth in honour of acting Governor-General Sir Gordon Drummond, whose ancestral home was Perthshire. Lake Trout
The lake trout (''Salvelinus namaycush'') is a freshwater char living mainly in lakes in northern North America. Silver Lake Provincial Park (Ontario)
Silver Lake Provincial Park is a provincial recreation park in the municipality of Tay Valley, Lanark County in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is on Ontario Highway 7 near the community of Maberly, approximately away from Perth, Ontario, and is located on a lake of the same name.
