Silvan (born 18 May 1937) is an Italian illusionist, writer and television personality. Life and career Born Aldo Savoldello in Venice, Silvan started his career at 20 years old and made his television debut in 1956, in the RAI show '' Primo applauso'' (''First Applause''). He gained mainstream popularity in 1973 hosting the RAI Saturday night magic and illusionism show ''Sim Salabim''. In J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium, the Elves or Quendi are a sundered (divided) people. Zion Silvan Shalom (; born 4 August 1958) is an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Likud between 1992 and 2015. He held several prominent ministerial positions, including Deputy leaders of Israel#Vice Prime Minister, Vice Prime Minister and Ministry of Interior (Israel), Minister of the Interior. The Silvan ambush (July 14, 2011) was an ambush on the Turkish Army by PKK insurgents, which inflicted heavy casualties on both sides. The ambush took place in a forest around the town of Silvan.
