Silambattam (film)
''Silambattam'' () is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by cinematographer-turned-director S. Saravanan, making his directorial debut. The film stars Silambarasan in a dual role as a father and son while Prabhu, Sneha and Sana Khan play lead roles with Kishore as the antagonist. Santhanam, Nedumudi Venu and Ponvannan play supporting roles with Premji Amaren in a special appearance. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the film's background score and soundtrack. In the film, Vichu, a young priest, is raised by his grandfather. When an unruly incident occurs in the temple premises, he is forced to reveal his true identity and a secret from his past. The film released on 18 December 2008. Silambattam opened to mixed reviews but was a commercial hit and gave a 100-day run at the box office. Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar (born 3 February 1984), popularly known as Simbu or by his initials as STR, is an Indian actor, producer, and playback singer who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He is the eldest son of director T. Rajendar. Premji Amaren
Prem Kumar Gangai Amaren (born 26 February 1979), better known as Premgi or Premji () is an Indian singer, composer, songwriter, actor and comedian. The son of composer and director Gangai Amaran, he often composes rap songs in Tamil cinema and is known for his comical performances in his elder brother Venkat Prabhu's films. He is also best known for his catchphrases "Enna koduma sir idhu?" () and "Evvalavo pannitom, itha panna mattoma?" Senrayan is an Indian actor who has predominantly worked in Tamil language films. Ilavarasu is an Indian cinematographer and actor, who works in the Tamil film industry. He started his career as a cinematographer and worked for 13 films, winning a Tamil Nadu State Film Award for one of them. Balachandar (8 December 1953 – 3 May 2023), known by his stage name Manobala (), was an Indian actor, film producer, director, comedian, and YouTuber who predominantly played supporting roles in Tamil-language films.
