Siklós District
Siklós () is a district in southern part of Baranya County, Hungary. '' Siklós'' is also the name of the town where the district seat is located. The district is in the Southern Transdanubia Statistical Region. Geography Siklós District borders with Pécs and Bóly districts to the north, Mohács District to the east, the Croatian county of Osijek-Baranja to the south, and Sellye District to the west. Districts Of Hungary
Districts of Hungary are the second-level divisions of Hungary after counties. They replaced the 175 subregions of Hungary in 2013. There are 174 districts in the 19 counties, and there are 23 districts in Budapest. Districts of the 19 counties are numbered by Arabic numerals and named after the district seat, while districts of Budapest are numbered by Roman numerals and named after the historical towns and neighbourhoods. In Hungarian, the districts of the capital and the rest of the country hold different titles. Illocska
Illocska (, sh-Cyrl-Latn, Илочац, Iločac) is a village in Baranya county, Hungary. Residents are Magyars, with a minority of Serbs and Danube Swabians. History Until the end of World War II, the majority of the inhabitants were Roman Catholic Danube Swabians (Schwowe), their ancestors arrived in 1790 from Nagyszékely and Gyönk villages to Illocska. Most of the former German settlers were expelled to allied-occupied Germany and allied-occupied Austria in 1946–1948, following the Potsdam Agreement. Harkány
Harkány () is a town in Baranya county, Hungary. History The area has been inhabited since medieval times, the name "Nagh Harkan" was mentioned in a document from the year 1323. The origin and meaning of the name ''harkány'' is unknown, but archaeological findings show that the area was inhabited by Huns and Avars about 1,000 years ago. Until the end of World War II, the majority of the inhabitants were Danube Swabians, also called locally as ''Stifolder'', because their ancestors arrived in the 17th and 18th centuries from the German district of Fulda. Most of the former German settlers were expelled to Allied-occupied Germany and Allied-occupied Austria in 1945–1948, consequent to the Potsdam Agreement.
