Sikander Zulfiqar
Sikander Zulfiqar (born 28 March 1997) is a Dutch cricketer who plays for the Netherlands cricket team. He made his Twenty20 International debut against the United Arab Emirates on 3 February 2016. He made his first-class debut against Hong Kong in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup tournament on 10 February 2017. He made his List A debut against Zimbabwe on 20 June 2017. On 17 July 2017, he played in the same match with his brothers Asad and Saqib, when they faced the United Arab Emirates at the VRA Cricket Ground, Amstelveen. It was the first instance of three siblings playing for a professional cricket team in the same game. Zulfiqar Ahmed (Dutch Cricketer)
Zulfiqar Ahmed(Punjabi:ذوالفقار احمد); born 23 February 1966) is a former international cricketer who represented the Dutch national side between 1991 and 2002. He primarily played as a right-handed middle-order batsman, although he occasionally opened the batting. Ahmed was born in Sialkot, Pakistan, and emigrated to the Netherlands in 1987, joining his uncle and brother there. He joined the Schiedam-based Excelsior '20 club, and made his Hoofdklasse debut in 1990. Ahmed made his national debut for the Netherlands in April 1991, on a tour of England. For the 1991 Hofdklasse season, he switched to the Voorburg Cricket Club, which he would play for throughout the rest of his international career. The United Arab Emirates cricket team toured the Netherlands in July 2017 to play three List A matches. In the opening match, brothers Asad and Saqib Zulfiqar made their debuts and played alongside their other brother, Sikander Zulfiqar. It was the first time triplets had played in a professional cricket team together. The United Arab Emirates won the series 2–1. The Euro T20 Slam is a planned professional Twenty20 cricket league. The first edition of the tournament was initially scheduled to start in August 2019, with matches to be held in Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. It's launch has been postponed on several occasions due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. History In March 2019, Cricket Scotland, Cricket Ireland and Royal Dutch Cricket Association officially announced the Euro T20 Slam. It was to start on 30 August and conclude on 22 September 2019 and feature 33 matches. The tournament was to have six city-based franchise teams, two each from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. In April 2019, six cities were awarded a franchise: Belfast and Dublin in Ireland, Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland, and Amsterdam and Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Amstelveen () is a List of municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of North Holland, Netherlands with a population of 92.353 as of 2022. VRA Cricket Ground
VRA Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Amstelveen, the Netherlands, the home of VRA Amsterdam since 1939. It has a capacity of 7000 spectators and regularly plays host to the Netherlands home games in the World Cricket League, Intercontinental Cup and CB40. This ground was first used for international cricket when the Netherlands played New Zealand in 1978. It has hosted many One Day Internationals (ODIs) including a match in the 1999 Cricket World Cup, and the 2004 Videocon Cup between India, Pakistan and Australia. The Zimbabwe cricket team toured the Netherlands in June 2017 to play three List A matches. Some sources stated the matches would be One Day International A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours.
