Sigvaldi Guðjónsson
Sigvaldi Guðjónsson (born 4 July 1994) is an Icelandic handball player for Kolstad Håndball and the Icelandic national team. In addition to regular handball, he also plays beach handball. He participated at the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship. He moved to Denmark at the age of ten, and came up through the Århus Håndbold academy. In the 2011-12 he won the Danish youth championship with the club. In the 2013-14 he played for the Danish 1st Division team Vejle Håndbold. In 2014 he joined Bjerringbro-Silkeborg. After a season there, he returned to Århus Håndbold, where he played for the next three seasons. Sigvaldi Kaldalóns
Sigvaldi Kaldalóns (Stefánsson) (13 January 1881 – 28 July 1946) was an Icelandic composer and doctor. Unlike the avant-garde composers of his day, he wrote in a traditional romantic style and composed many of Iceland's most famous and widely performed songs, many of which are now wrongly assumed to be folk songs. His particular skill was in capturing the spirit of poems in his melodies, making him Iceland's foremost lyric composer. Since the end of 2016, his works have entered the public domain in Iceland. Life He was born in Garðastræti, Vaktarabær in the Grjóti neighbourhood of Reykjavík, the son of Stefán Egilsson, a mason, and Sesselja Sigvaldadóttir, a midwife. He attended the Reykjavík Latin School, matriculating in 1902 and gained a diploma in medicine in 1908 from the medical school in Reykjavík. Sigvaldi Strut-Haraldsson
Jarl Sigvaldi was the semi-legendary chieftain of the fabled Jomsvikings and commander of their stronghold - Jomsborg. He succeeded Palnatoke as the leaders of the Jomsvikings in the late 10th century. The character of Sigvaldi remains largely enigmatic. As a leader, he was said to be more wily than brave despite leading such a powerful force. Biography Sigvaldi Strut-Haraldsson was the son of Jarl Strut-Harald, who ruled over the Danes (Germanic tribe), Danish territory of Scania and the brother of Thorkell the Tall. In order to win Astrid, the daughter of the Wends, Wendish chieftain Burislav, he promised to liberate the Wends of the tribute they had to pay to the Danes. He fulfilled his promise by sailing to Zealand (Denmark), Zealand where he sent the message to King Sweyn Forkbeard that he had important tidings, but had fallen ill and could not come in person to bring them to him.
