Signe Barth
Signe Magdalena Barth née Pettersson (16 June 1895, Uddevalla — 15 March 1982, Stockholm) was a Swedish painter and art teacher. After studying in Stockholm and Copenhagen, she moved to Paris in 1920 where she completed her education, married and settled until 1936. After returning to Sweden, she ran an art college in Stockholm from 1940 to 1959. Her paintings include motifs in oils from Paris and Stockholm as well as landscapes from the west coast of Sweden. Early life and education Born in Uddevalla on 16 June 1895, Signe Magdalena Pettersson was the daughter of the high-ranking government official Fredrik Emil Pettersson (1892–1907) and his wife Vendela Kristina von Essen (1853–1919). She was the family's youngest child. Uddevalla
Uddevalla is a Stad (Sweden), town in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It’s the seat of Uddevalla Municipality. In 2015, it had a population of 34,781, making it the largest town fully in Bohuslän. Uddevalla is located where the river Bäveån opens up into Byfjorden, a fjord in the south-eastern part of Skagerrak. The beaches of Uddevalla are filled with seashells and Uddevalla has one of the largest shell-Bank (geography), banks in the world. Uddevalla also has a port that once was a large shipyard, the ''Uddevallavarvet'' ("Uddevalla wharf"), which was the largest employer in Bohuslän during the 1960s. Moderna Museet is a state museum for modern and contemporary art located on the island of Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, opened in 1958. In 2009, the museum opened Moderna Museet Malmö in Malmö. Tjörn
Tjörn () is the sixth largest island in Sweden, located on the Swedish west coast in the province of Bohuslän. The area of the island is , and the area of the municipality is . The population, as of 2017, was 15,774 people. Geography Tjörn is connected in the east to the town of Stenungsund on the mainland by the Tjörn Bridge, and to the island of Orust in the north by the Skåpesund bridge.
