Anthony Simcoe (born 7 June 1969) is an Australian actor, known for his portrayal of Steve Kerrigan in the 1997 film '' The Castle'' and Ka D'Argo in the science fiction television series ''Farscape''. Early life and education Simcoe is a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Sydney. He holds an MFA in Drama, specialising in actor training. Career Acting Simcoe gained international fame when he was cast as Ka D'Argo in ''Farscape''. He has also appeared in several other television series including ''Chameleon''. He also does an appearance in the 2003 short film '' Syntax Error''. Music Simcoe co-founded and performed in the band Signal Room, along with actor/drummer Wayne Pigram, guitarist Stephen Edwards and bass guitarist Gerry Kortegast. The band was formed during the filming of ''Farscape'', which also featured Pigram. Deepcon
DeepCon (also Deepcon) is an Italian science fiction, fantasy and horror and terror, horror fan convention, covering multiple (ideally all) entertainment forms and media (e.g.: film, television, literature, comics, music, computer), mixed with a dose of actual, real-world science. History The last two decades of the twentieth century were a relatively difficult time for science fiction in Italy, regardless of medium. Thus DeepCon was conceived to promote its visibility and viability as a genre, as well as a general Science fiction, SF fan convention. Collaborations were sought with television stations, distributors and authoring firms, both for promotion and for panels explaining the behind-the-scenes work needed in order to air or sell a TV show or a movie. Marking Time
''Marking Time'' was an Australian television mini-series, consisting of four one-hour episodes. It first aired on 9 and 10 November 2003 on ABC-TV. Directed by Cherie Nowlan and written by John Doyle, it was the first mainstream television/film project to address the issue of the Government of Australia' refugee policy, a topic it approaches by chronicling the emotional journey of one young man during his year off after graduation, in his fictional rural home-town of Brackley, Australia. ''Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars'' is a military science fiction television miniseries written by Rockne S. O'Bannon and David Kemper (writer), David Kemper and directed by Brian Henson. Following the Farscape, original series' cancellation in September 2002, it aimed to wrap up the cliffhanger and tie up some elements of the series in general. It was broadcast on 17 and 18 October 2004. Henson and others have attributed the return of ''Farscape'' to the ongoing campaign of fans. Production began in December 2003. In May 2004 the SyFy, Sci-Fi Channel, now owned by NBC Universal, announced that it would run a two-episode conclusion titled ''Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars''.
