Sigma (band)
Sigma are an English drum and bass DJ and record production duo consisting of Cameron James Edwards and Joseph Aluin Lenzie. They met at Leeds University at drum and bass nights. Their 2010 collaboration with DJ Fresh, "Lassitude", peaked at number 98 on the UK Singles Chart. Their single "Nobody to Love" topped the UK Singles Chart, becoming their first UK number one. Their second was the follow-up single " Changing", featuring Paloma Faith. Career 2006–2009: Formation and career beginnings Lenzie and Edwards met in 2006 at Leeds University; Edwards was working in local record store Tribe Records and with Echo Location's Obi running local night Event Horizon, while Lenzie was DJing hip-hop and warming up Event Horizon for acts. Once they had finished in Leeds, they relocated to London and became a three-piece with Ben Mauerhoff, being signed under DJ Fresh's Breakbeat Kaos. After a while, Mauerhoff left. Harpenden
Harpenden () is a town and civil parish in the City and District of St Albans in the county of Hertfordshire, England. The population of the built-up area was 30,674 in the 2021 census, while the population of the civil parish was 31,128. Harpenden is a commuter town, with a direct rail connection to Central London. In 1867, several items were found including a bronze escutcheon (heraldry), escutcheon, rams-head shaped mounts, and a bronze bowl. Drum And Bass
Drum and bass (commonly abbreviated as DnB, D&B, or D'n'B) is a genre of electronic dance music characterised by fast Break (music)#Breakbeat (element of music), breakbeats (typically 165–185 Tempo, beats per minute) with heavy Bass (music), bass and sub-bass lines, Sampling (music), samples, and synthesizers. The genre grew out of the UK's Jungle music, jungle scene in the 1990s. The popularity of drum and bass at its commercial peak ran parallel to several other UK dance styles. A major influence was the original Jamaican dub music, dub and reggae sound that influenced Jungle music, jungle's bass-heavy sound. Eric Sheridan Prydz (, ; born 19 July 1976), also known by his many aliases including Pryda () and Cirez D (), is a Swedish DJ and record producer. He rose to prominence with his 2004 hit single " Call on Me", and saw continued chart success with " Proper Education" in 2007, "Pjanoo" in 2008, and " Opus" in 2015. In 2016, he released his debut studio album, '' Opus''. In 2017, he won DJ of the Year at the Electronic Music Awards and was also nominated for Live Act of the Year. Christopher William Mercer (born 26 January 1985), known by stage name Rusko, is a British electronic music producer and DJ from York, England. Early life and education Rusko was born on 26 January 1985 in Leeds and brought up in nearby York. He grew up in Wheldrake, just outside of the city, and attended Fulford School. He later graduated from Leeds College of Music with a degree in Music Performance. Career Immersed in the world of dubstep through Leeds based event "Sub Dub" which was held at the West Indian Centre, Rusko moved to London to work with the record label Sub Soldiers with now no longer associated act Caspa. ''Kryptonite'' is the second studio album by British-based DJ and record producer DJ Fresh. The album primarily features drum and bass tracks, featuring drum and bass group Sigma and vocalists Stamina MC, Koko, Valkyrie and Ce'cile. The album has been pushed back various times, each time with a new track or an old track removed. Tracks removed from ''Kryptonite'' are "Spaceface", a drum and bass tune removed due to Fresh losing parts of the song itself, Fresh has confirmed that he doesn't know "what's going on" with "Lazer Squad", "Off World" was put onto a 12" with "Direct Order" by The Funktion, "Cylon" became the flip to "Lassitude", and "X-Project" has been removed for an unknown reason. There was a mispress of the talkbox promo vinyl which had "Acid Rain" on the flipside rather than the intended song, "Fight". ''Knowledge: An Illustrated Magazine of Science'' was a British popular science magazine published from 1881 to 1918. Founded by astronomer Richard A. Proctor, the magazine started as a weekly periodical, becoming monthly in 1885. The magazine was known for its extensive correspondence columns. Proctor himself, the first editor, was a significant contributor, and many of his discoveries or theoretical deductions first appeared in the magazine. "Changing" is a song by British record production duo Sigma. It was co-written by TMS, Wayne Hector and Ella Eyre. The song features English singer Paloma Faith, most associated with her pop and soul ballads. This song was heard on Vodafone commercials in October 2017 for the brand-new ″Proud″ campaign. "Changing" was released as the third single from their debut studio album ''Life'' (2015) on 14 September 2014, reaching number one for one week, becoming Faith's first UK number-one single and Sigma's second. An alternate version of the song appears on Faith's album '' A Perfect Contradiction: Outsiders' Edition''. The song was originally a bootleg remix of "Bound 2" by Kanye West featuring Charlie Wilson, released on 24 January 2014 as a free download. It later received support from major British radio stations including BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, and so was reworked into an original track with Wilson's vocals covered by former One True Voice member Daniel Pearce.
