Sigge Parling
Sigvard Emanuel "Sigge" Parling (26 March 1930 – 17 September 2016) was a Swedish footballer. He also played ice hockey and bandy. During his career he played for Djurgårdens IF (1949–1960), IK Sirius (1960–1963) and Gefle IF (1963–1965). His position was left midfielder and was considered a very rough but fair player. During his time in Djurgården he was known as the first '' Järnkamin'' (Iron Stove). Parling was capped 195 times for Djurgården and scored 12 goals. He won the Swedish Championship twice with Djurgårdens IF, 1955 and 1959. Parling was part of the legendary Sweden national team at the 1958 FIFA World Cup and was capped 37 times for his country. Parling is the only player from Djurgårdens IF who has played a World Cup Final. He died on 17 September 2016 at the age of 86. The Sweden men's national football team () represents Sweden in men's international Association football, football and it is controlled by the Swedish Football Association, the governing body of football in Sweden. Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two team sport, teams wearing Ice skates#Bandy skates, ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. Allsvenskan (; ), also known as Fotbollsallsvenskan (, ) is a professional association football league in Sweden and the highest level of the Swedish football league system. Founded in 1924, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Superettan, the second highest league in the Swedish football, Swedish men's football league system. Seasons run from late March or early April to the beginning of November, with the 16 clubs all meeting each other twice, resulting in a 30-match season, for a total of 240 matches league-wide. IK Sirius Bandy
IK Sirius is a Swedish bandy club located in Uppsala, currently playing in Elitserien. IK Sirius were formed in 1907 and play their home games at Studenternas Idrottsplats. History The sports club that became IK Sirius was founded on 9 August 1907, and got its current name on 5 April 1908 after having been discussing Svartbäckens IK and IK Spurt. At the time, several sports club existed in the city of Uppsala: IFK Uppsala, IF Thor, IF Heimdal, and Upsala IF. The sports club was founded for athletics, and took up bandy in 1908. Swedish Bandy Final
Swedish bandy champions () is a title held by the winners of the final of the highest Swedish bandy league played each year, Elitserien. The final is called ''Svenska bandyfinalen'' ("Swedish Bandy Final") and is played in March. From the 2007–08 season, Saturday replaced Sunday as the final date, but was changed back to Sunday again and again to Saturday in 2015 in 2010. In 2009 Eurosport 2 showed it for the 1st time. The FIFA World Cup is an international association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the ''Fédération Internationale de Football Association'' (FIFA), the sport's global governing body.
