Siegfried Breuer
Siegfried Breuer (24 June 1906 – 1 February 1954) was an Austrian stage actor, stage and film actor and occasional film director and screenwriter. Biography Born in Vienna, Siegried was the son of Hans Breuer (tenor), Hans Breuer (1868 or 1870–1929), who was an opera singer and actor from Cologne. Performing was in the blood and he studied at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, some time in the early 1920s and made his stage debut at the Volkstheater, Vienna in 1924. After some 15 years of stage acting he made his screen debut in a film called ''Eins zu Eins'' in 1939 where he went on to star in over 50 films between 1939 and 1954. In 1950 he directed, wrote and starred in the film ''Der Schuß durchs Fenster'' in which he worked with Curd Jürgens. His son Siegfried Breuer Jr. and grandchildren Jacques Breuer and Pascal Breuer are also in the entertainment industry. Jacques Breuer
Jacques Breuer (born October 20, 1956) is an Austrian screen and voice actor and film director living in Germany. His grandfather was the popular Austrian actor Siegfried Breuer and both his father, Siegfried Breuer jr., and his ten years younger brother, Pascal Breuer, are actors. Born in Munich, Germany, Breuer graduated from the musical Camerloher-Gymnasium in Freising. His acting debut was in 1975 when he was still attending the Otto Falckenberg School of the Performing Arts when he played in Brecht's '' Señora Carrar's Rifles'' at Munich Kammerspiele. Between 1977 and 1979 he was a cast member of the . Since then he has been freelancing. It was an anti-Serbian propaganda and part of a concerted propaganda push against Serbs, attempting to split them from the Croats. Synopsis Vera witnesses the persecution of ethnic Germans in Yugoslavia, which awakens her ethnic consciousness. Her cosmopolitan friend Alexander is arrested. Vera flirts with the Serbian commander to allow ''Volksdeutsche'' to escape to the border. When arrested, she proudly affirms that she helped her countrymen and, in an escape attempt, is shot, to die happy and heroic. ''Venus on Trial'' (german: Venus vor Gericht) is a 1941 German drama film directed by Hans H. Zerlett and starring Hannes Stelzer, Hansi Knoteck, and Paul Dahlke. The film was part of the Nazis' campaign against 'degenerate art', and depicts the trial of a young artist who has resisted the trend towards it.Hake p. 59–60 The film was made by Bavaria Film at their Emelka Studios in Munich. ''Der Weg ins Freie'' (translated as "The Way into the Open" and most often "The Road into the Open") was published by Arthur Schnitzler in 1908 and is one of only two novels (the other being ''Therese'') by this Viennese author (1862-1931) better known for his short stories and plays. This novel was first translated into English in 1913 by Horace Barnett Samuel (1883-1950). The principal character of ''Der Weg ins Freie'' is the aristocratic young composer Georg von Wergenthin-Recco who has talent but lacks the drive to get down to work, and spends most of his time socializing with members of the assimilationist, artistically sensitive Jewish bourgeoisie of Vienna and other non-Jews like himself who enjoy their company. The plot centers on his ultimately unhappy affair with a Catholic lower middle class girl named Anna Rosner.
