Sidney Green (basketball)
Sidney Green (born January 4, 1961) is an American former professional basketball player and former coach. He played college basketball for the UNLV Runnin' Rebels and was drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) by the Chicago Bulls in 1983. After a ten-year career in the NBA he went into college coaching. He now works as a Chicago Bulls team ambassador. Life Green was born in Brooklyn, New York. A 6'9" forward/ center, Green attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he played for the UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team. Green's final game for UNLV was the team's second round loss to eventual champion North Carolina State in 1983. He was an All-American selection, and was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 1983 NBA draft. Parade All-America Boys Basketball Team
The ''Parade'' All-America Boys Basketball Team was an annual selection by ''Parade'' that nationally honored the top high school boys' basketball players in the United States. It was part of the ''Parade'' All-American series that originated with boys basketball before branching to other sports. Started by the Sunday magazine in 1957, it had been the longest ongoing selection of high school basketball All-Americans in the country at the time of its final selections in 2015. Many of the honorees went on to star as college and professional basketball players. As of March 2011, there were 162 ''Parade'' All-Americans playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA). UNLV Runnin' Rebels
The UNLV Runnin' Rebels are the men's basketball team that represent the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in the Mountain West Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA); it plays at the Thomas & Mack Center on campus. In basketball, a rebound, sometimes colloquially referred to as a board, is a statistic awarded to a player who retrieves the ball after a missed field goal or free throw.
