Sid Sutherland
Sidney E. Sutherland (August 7, 1901 – April 20, 1968) was an American animator, screenwriter, and sound editor who is best known as the animator of many classic Warner Bros. cartoons. Career Sutherland's professional life was varied across the entertainment business, ranging from journalism, screenwriting, animation, sound recording, and sound editing. In the 1930s, Sutherland wrote magazine articles, including two for ''Liberty'' magazine entitled ''The Mystery of Sacco and Vanzetti''. In 1932, not long after the advent of talkies, Sutherland also broke into the movie business and began a career as a screenwriter at First National Pictures on '' The Match King'', starring Warren William and Lili Damita. Although he soon developed a second career as an animator, he continued working concurrently as a screenwriter over the next fourteen years, his last movie being '' Wife Wanted'' (1946). Cecil Surry
Cecil Hays Surry (April 19, 1907 – September 19, 1956) was a cartoonist at various film studios in the Golden Age of Animation. Biography Surry was born to Bert F. and Lydia or Lida B. (Knoblock) Surry in Chelan, Washington, where his father and uncle owned an orchard. He spent his youth in Washington State; the family moved by 1922 to San Diego. Surry enrolled in the Otis Art Institute and, as a second-year student, won a poster competition sponsored by the Junior League of Los Angeles for the third annual horse show of the Flintridge Riding Club. By 1931, he got a job at Walt Disney Animation where he met his future wife Constance Berry. Voters lists show they married sometime between 1932 and 1934 (they also show he switched from being a registered Republican to Democrat before 1946). Cartoons on the ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' series of shorts. He wrote, produced, and/or directed many classic animated cartoon shorts starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, Pepé Le Pew, Marvin the Martian, and Porky Pig, among others.
