Siba Narain Sankar
Siba Narain Sankar (born 13 October 1915) was an Indian Judge who served as the 8th Chief Justice of Orissa High Court. Career Sankar was born on 13th October 1915 in New Delhi. He completed his educational career in Delhi University and joined the Bar in 1937. In 1960 he was appointed as the Additional Counsel of Central Government and later on became the Central Government Counsel in Delhi High Court. He was also the President of the Delhi Bar Association. Odisha High Court
The Orissa High Court is the High Court for the Indian state of Odisha. The then Bengal Presidency was a vast province including present day Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. It was difficult to administratively manage such a vast area, inhabited by people speaking different languages and having different traditions. Administrative exigencies required separation of such areas which originally did not form part of Bengal. So, the new province of Bihar and Odisha was formed on 22 March 1912. However, the said new province of Bihar and Odisha was under the jurisdiction of the Calcutta High Court. On 9 February 1916, in exercise of the powers under Section 113 of the Government of India Act, 1915, the King of the United Kingdom issued letters of patent constituting the High Court of Patna. Gati Krushna Misra
Gati Krushna Misra was the seventh Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, from 1 May 1969 to 30 October 1975. On 1 May 1969, he was elevated to the post of Chief Justice of Orissa High Court and worked as such for more than six years. Professional life Born in the village of Gailo, in Dhenkanal district, he completed his primary education in the native village. In 1937, he got a Post Graduate Degree in Economics from Patna University and pursued his law course in Patna. He returned to Odisha and pursued his Law profession in 1940 in Cuttack. He was appointed Munsif in the Orissa Judiciary in 1940. He was promoted to the cadre of Sub Judge and served at various places of Odisha. But in 1950 he resigned from Government service and joined his profession. About twelve years thereafter, i.e. from 30 January 1962 he was elevated as an additional Judge of the Odisha High Court. Sukanta Kishore Ray (5 November 1918 – 23 December 2002) was an Indian politician and judge. He served as the Chief Justice of Odisha High Court. He was also the acting Governor of Odisha.
