Siale Lauaki (born 30 May 2003) is a New Zealand rugby union player, who plays for the and . His preferred position is prop. Early career Lauaki attended St Patrick's College, Wellington where he was named College Sport Wellington Sportsman of the year, following being named in the New Zealand Schools side. He was selected for the New Zealand U20s in 2023. Professional career Lauaki has represented in the National Provincial Championship since 2022, being named in their full squad for the 2023 Bunnings NPC. St Patrick's College, Wellington
St Patrick's College is a Roman Catholic boys' secondary school in Wellington, New Zealand. History Founded by Archbishop Francis Redwood Society of Mary (Marists), SM, St Patrick's opened on 1 June 1885 with nine day pupil, day-boys and twelve boarders. The college represents one of the earliest educational establishments of the Society of Mary (Marists), the religious congregation whose members accompanied Bishop Jean Baptiste Pompallier to New Zealand in 1838, and who played a prominent role in the establishment of the Catholic church in New Zealand. In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). The New Zealand national under-20 rugby union team, nicknamed the Baby Blacks, is the representative rugby union team from New Zealand. It replaced the two former age grade teams, the under-19s and the under-21s. National Provincial Championship (2006–present)
The National Provincial Championship (NPC) is an annual, men's Round-robin tournament, round-robin rugby union competition organised by New Zealand Rugby. First played in National Provincial Championship (1976–2005), 1976, it is the second highest level of professional rugby in New Zealand. The Ranfurly Shield is also played for during the season. In 2021, Bunnings became the naming rights sponsor and the competition has been known as the Bunnings NPC since. 2023 Bunnings NPC
The 2023 Bunnings NPC season was the 18th season of New Zealand's provincial rugby union competition, the National Provincial Championship, since it turned professional in 2006. It involved the top fourteen provincial rugby unions of New Zealand, which – under a new format introduced in 2022 – all played for the same title. For sponsorship reasons, the competition is known as the Bunnings NPC. The regular season began on 4 August 2023, when Tasman hosted Otago. The final took place on 21 October 2023.
