Siakol
Siakol is a Filipino rock band formed in 1994 in Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The band is one of the several groups who spearheaded the 90's Philippine alternative rock explosion and known for their hit songs "''Lakas Tama''", "''Peksman''", "''Kanto''", "''Biyaheng Impyerno''" and "''Bakit Ba''". Founded by Noel Palomo, Wowie Flores, Oyie Bunao, Miniong Cervantes, and Wally Gaspar in 1994, the band was a prominent fixture of the ''Tunog Kalye'' era and very popular to college and high school students in the Philippines during the 90's. Since 2020, two factions from the original lineup has been in an ongoing conflict with the ownership of the name "Siakol". Both Noel Palomo and Miniong Cervantes announced their departure from the group leaving behind Wowie Flores as the remaining sole original member. Rappler (portmanteau of the words "rap" and "ripples") is a Mass media in the Philippines, Filipino online news website based in Pasig, Metro Manila, the Philippines. It was founded by 2021 Nobel Peace Prize laureate and convicted cyberlibelist Maria Ressa along with a group of fellow Filipino journalists as well as technopreneurs. The Youth (band)
The Youth is a Filipino rock band. Their music is a mixture of punk, post-punk and alternative rock, influenced heavily by Wuds, a pioneering Filipino punk band. Early years At first, the band was called “Boyish Day”. It formed in 1989 composed of Dodong Cruz (bass/backup vocals), Erap Carrasco (drums), Pat Mabingnay (lead guitars) and Zaldy Carrasco (lead singer). They played music suitable during the time: New wave, alternative and punk music, which were common on the radio station (Capital Radio's) XB 102. The station saw the origins of what would be one of the most famous local acts of the early 1990s. Due to musical differences, the group separated and formed other groups. Global Battle Of The Bands
The Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) is a live music competition joined by bands from all continents around the world. It is open to amateur/professional bands of all music genres and ages; there are only two main prerequisites to joining: no cover songs and no pre-recorded tracks. All bands must play original compositions and play it live. Every year Local Qualifying Heats and National Finals take place in participating countries around the world. The winners of these go forward to the World Finals. The grand winner of the World Finals will be awarded a USD $100,000.00 worth of cash and band development packages in London, as well as a golden statuette engraved with the words "Best New Band in the World".
