Si Kak Sao Chingcha
Si Kak Sao Chingcha ( th, สี่กั๊กเสาชิงช้า, ) is an intersection in San Chao Pho Suea and Sao Chingcha with Wat Ratchabophit sub-districts, Phra Nakhon district, Bangkok. It is the four-way intersection of Thanao, Bamrung Mueang and Fueang Nakhon roads. It is the beginning of Thanao Road and from this point one can clearly see the Giant Swing from the side of Bamrung Mueang Road. Si Kak Sao Chingcha is considered one of two intersections in Bangkok, that still has the term "Si Kak" preceding the title, alike nearby Si Kak Phraya Si (สี่กั๊กพระยาศรี). Both are connected by Fueang Nakhon, the road is only 0.5 km (about 0.3 mi) long, and the road was built along Charoen Krung with Bamrung Mueang since the reign of King Mongkut (Rama IV). San Chao Pho Suea Subdistrict
San Chaopho Suea ( th, ศาลเจ้าพ่อเสือ, ) is a ''khwaeng'' (subdistrict) of Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. History It is named after San Chaopho Suea, an ancient Chinese joss house of Xuanwu or "''Chaopho Suea''" (Tiger God) in Thai. It has been built since the King Nangklao (Rama III)'s reign in early Rattanakosin era. Originally it was situated on Bamrung Mueang Road, later in the King Chulalongkorn (Rama V)'s reign, it has moved to Tanao Road like today. The building of the joss house was built in the southern Chinese architectural style. Today, it is regarded as one of the most well-known and respected Chinese joss houses. King Mongkut
Mongkut ( th, มงกุฏ; 18 October 18041 October 1868) was the fourth Monarchy of Thailand, monarch of Rattanakosin Kingdom, Siam (Thailand) under the House of Chakri, titled Rama IV. He ruled from 1851 to 1868. The Chakri dynasty ( th, ราชวงศ์ จักรี, , , ) is the current reigning dynasty of the Kingdom of Thailand, the head of the house is the king, who is head of state. The family has ruled Thailand since the founding of the Rattanakosin Era and the city of Bangkok in 1782; following the end of Taksin Thonburi's reign, when the capital of Siam shifted to Bangkok. The royal house was founded by Rama I, an Ayutthaya military leader of Sino-Mon descent. Prior to his accession to the throne, Rama I held for years the title Chakri, the civil chancellor. Sam Praeng
Sam Phraeng ( th, สามแพร่ง, ), also spelled as Sam Praeng, is the name of a neighbourhood that is historic area in Rattanakosin Island, San Chaopho Suea Sub-District, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. It is an area in the middle between Atsadang (run through Pak Khlong Talad to Sanam Luang) and Tanao Roads (run through Si Kak Sao Chingcha to Bang Lamphu). Songkran (Thailand)
Songkran ( th, เทศกาลสงกรานต์, ) is the Thai New Year's national holiday. Songkran is on 13 April every year, but the holiday period extends from 14 to 15 April. In 2018 the Thai cabinet extended the festival nationwide to five days, 12–16 April, to enable citizens to travel home for the holiday. In 2019, the holiday was observed 12–16 April as 13 April fell on a Saturday. The word "Songkran" comes from the Sanskrit word ', literally "astrological passage", meaning transformation or change. It coincides with the rising of Aries on the astrological chart and with the New Year of many calendars of South and Southeast Asia, in keeping with the Hindu Calendar and Buddhist calendar.
