Shyamal Sinha
Shyamal Sinha, also known as Shyamlal Sinha, (10 July 1930 – 7 June 1963) was an Indian first-class cricketer and cricket coach. Sinha played regularly for Bihar from 1951-52 to 1962-63 as a bowler. His best figures were 4 for 82 off 29 overs against Bengal in 1958-59. His highest score was 34 not out at number nine, the second-top score of the innings, in a close victory over Orissa in 1960-61. While teaching at his alma mater, Patna University, in the 1950s, he and some of his colleagues, including Sujit Mukherjee, began informally coaching local boys and promoting cricket in Patna. Patna ( ), historically known as Pataliputra, is the capital and largest city of the state of Bihar in India. Bihar

The Bihar cricket team represents the state of Bihar in Indian domestic cricket competitions. It is run by Bihar Cricket Association. History 1936 to 2004 The team competed in the Ranji Trophy from 1936-37 until 2003–04. When the state of Bihar was divided into two states, Bihar and Jharkhand, most of the former state's cricket infrastructure was in Jharkhand, so Jharkhand commenced playing in the Ranji Trophy, and the state of Bihar was no longer represented. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. Bengal Cricket Team
The Bengal cricket team represents the Indian state of West Bengal in domestic first-class cricket. It is considered Eastern India's strongest cricket team. The team plays its home matches at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Bengal has won two Ranji Trophy victories and has been runner-up a total of 12 times. Bengal won the Vijay Hazare Trophy, also known as the Ranji One Day Trophy, in 2012. Orissa Cricket Team
The Odisha cricket team (known as Orissa until 2011) is a domestic cricket team based in the Indian state of Odisha. It is in the elite group of the Ranji Trophy. Its main home ground is Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Patna University is a public state university in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established on 1 October 1917 during the British Raj. Sujit Mukherjee
Sujit Mukherjee (21 August 1930 – 14 January 2003) was an Indian writer, translator, literary critic, publisher, teacher and cricketer. Career Sujit Mukherjee was born in the village of Ariadaha, south of Calcutta, and educated at St. Xavier's High School, Patna, Patna College ( MA) and the University of Pennsylvania (PhD). He taught at Patna College, at the National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla, and at the University of Poona before joining Orient Longman in 1970, where he served as Chief Publisher until 1986. He was a prolific writer on a range of literary topics, as well as a translator from Bangla into English.
