Shridhar Chillal (born 29 January 1937) is an Indian people, Indian man from the city of Pune, who held the world record for the longest nail (anatomy), fingernails ever reached on a single hand, with a combined length of 909.6 centimeters (358.1 inches). Chillal's longest single nail was his thumbnail, which measured 197.8 centimeters (77.87 inches). He stopped cutting his nails in 1952. Although proud of his record-breaking nails, Chillal has faced increasing difficulties due to the weight of his finger nails, including disfigurement of his fingers and loss of function in his left hand. He claims that Nerve injury, nerve damage to his left arm from the nails' immense weight has also caused Hearing loss, deafness in his left ear. Shridhar Venkatesh Ketkar (2 February 1884 – 10 April 1937) was a Marathi sociologist, historian and novelist from Maharashtra, India. He is principally known as the chief editor of '' Maharashtriya Jnanakosha'', the first-ever encyclopedia in the Marathi language. Early life and background Ketkar was born into a Marathi Hindu family in Raipur, Madhya Pradesh, and was educated in Wilson College, Bombay. He left for the United States in 1906 and obtained his PHD from Cornell University in 1911. After a yearlong sojourn in London (circa 1912), where he met his future wife Edith Kohn, he returned to India. Career His first appointment in India was as a professor of economics, science of administration and universal jurisprudence at Calcutta University. Shridhar Krishna Sathe (October 30, 1950 – April 4, 2019) was an Indian-born American scientist who was a distinguished professor of food science at Florida State University. He is widely cited as an authority on the role of proteins in food allergy. Sridhar is an Indian actor in the Kannada film industry, and also a dance scholar, performer and choreographer, trained in Bharatanatyam. He also holds a degree in engineering. General Arunkumar Shridhar Vaidya (27 July 1926 – 10 August 1986) was an Indian Army general. He served as the 12th Chief of the Army Staff from 1983 to 1986. Narayan Shridhar Bendre (21 August 1910 – 19 February 1992) was a 20th-century Indian artist and one of the founding members of Baroda Group Narayan Shridhar Bendre was born in Indore.
