Show Banga is a rapper and songwriter from San Francisco, California. Currently signed to Cam Publishin he was releasing singles as early as 2011 on HomeTeam Entertainment, and in 2013 he released the deluxe edition of his album ''Don't Stop Votin'.'' Show Banga's single "Milli," which was produced by Dave-O of The A-Team, was released in 2014. According to ''Rehab Online Magazine'', "Show Banga arguably has one of the most rare apflows in the Bay Area, with 'I Been That' being a contender for the rapper’s breakout cut. However, the bass-packed track 'Milli' is pretty damn hard." In April 2015, he released ''Mayor 4 Life'' on EMPIRE Recordings, with guest artists such as E-40, Kool John, Sage The Gemini, and P-Lo. The term hyphy ( ) is Oakland slang meaning "hyperactive". More specifically, it is an adjective describing the hip hop music and the culture associated with the area. The term was first coined by Oakland rapper Keak da Sneak. History The hyphy culture emerged in the late 1990s in Oakland before rising to prominence throughout the wider Bay Area in the early 2000s. It is distinguished by gritty, pounding rhythms, and has been compared to crunk music. San Jose producer Traxamillion is largely considered the first producer to create hyphy style music, having produced songs such as Keak Da Sneak’s “Super Hyphy”, which established the term hyphy. An individual is said to "get hyphy" when they dance in an overstated, fast-paced and ridiculous manner, or if they get overloud with other people.
