Shout Fest
SHOUTfest (also known as ShoutFest) is an annual Christian music festival that features popular Contemporary Christian music acts. Beginning in 2002, SHOUTfest was coordinated by Jeff Roberts Booking Agency, a Christian rock booking agency based in Nashville, Tennessee. The one-day festival traveled around the eastern United States, and typically included games and other activities. SHOUTfest featured bands such as Skillet, Jars of Clay, Rock n Roll Worship Circus, Jeff Deyo, Superchick, Pillar, Jump5, Newsong, Tait, Kevin Max, Natalie Grant, Rebecca St. James, Sonic Flood, Seventh Day Slumber and Flatfoot 56. Tait was an American Christian rock band formed by Michael Tait, one of the members of dc Talk and the lead singer of Newsboys from 2009 to 2025. History Pre-formation of Tait (1996–1999) In 1996, dc Talk member Michael Tait met Chad Chapin and the two became close friends and began to write songs together. After a few years, Michael created his own cover band, a funky hard rock group named ''Curious George''. He toured with Chapin and had a few concerts, performing music from Pearl Jam to King's X and The 77s. Afterward was when Tait and Chapin decided that they would eventually get a more permanent music group of their own together and tour the world. WAAW (94.7 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Williston, South Carolina, and serving the Augusta metropolitan area. The station carries a gospel music format. It uses the moniker "Shout 94.7". It is owned by Wisdom, Inc., led by Dr. Frank Neely. The radio studios and offices are on Park Avenue SE in Aiken, South Carolina. WAAW has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 2,550 watts. The transmitter is on Perry Street at Old Barnwell Road in Montmorenci, South Carolina. History WAAW signed on the air in late 1995 with a classic R&B format as "94.7 The Boss". Seventh Day Slumber is an American Christian rock band from Dallas, Texas, formed in 1996, consisting of vocalist Joseph Rojas, his son Blaise on drums, and guitarist Ken Reed. They were an independent band for five years until they signed with BEC Records in 2005, then finished their contract in 2012 and partnered with Capitol CMG to start their own record label called Rockfest Records. Sonic Flood
Sonicflood (sometimes stylized as SONICFLOOd) is an American contemporary worship music band from Nashville, Tennessee, that has been touted as "The Fathers of the Modern Worship Movement." The group took the name "Sonicflood", a reference to a line in the Book of Revelation . They released their debut album at a time when such music was gaining commercial success in the Christian music industry. Rebecca () appears in the Hebrew Bible as the wife of Isaac and the mother of Jacob and Esau. According to biblical tradition, Rebecca's father was Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram, also called Aram-Naharaim.
