Shotei Hanevuah
Shotei Ha'nevua (), or The Fools of Prophecy, was an Israeli musical group selected as Israel's "Band of the Year" in 2005. The band described its music as a fusion of dub with hip-hop and dance music, with an eastern Mediterranean flavor. The band toured the United States in 2005, performing at major colleges and universities. History The band's founders Roi Levi and Gilad Vital – childhood friends from Metulla, started their musical activity under the name "Shotey Hanevua" (The Fools of Prophecy) in 1994. During 1995 they recorded two singles and performed in small clubs in Tel-Aviv. In 1996 they recorded five demos produced of original songs by Amit Carmely. These recordings were sent to different Israeli record companies but went unnoticed. Helicon () is an Israeli record label. History Helicon Records was founded in 1985. Aside from being the label of many Israeli singers, Helicon was the exclusive distributor of Snapper Music, EMI and Universal Music Group (replacing PolyGram) in Israel. In 2012, Helicon acquired the distribution rights of High Fidelity, another Israeli record label. Its founders, Itzik Alsheich and Roni Brown, decided to name it after the mountain "Helikon" in Greece, "which, according to Greek mythology, was the home of the nine Muses: the goddesses of creativity, arts and sciences, whose main role was to inspire creators, especially poets, musicians and philosophers". In late 2015, the company began releasing vinyl records again after a hiatus of more than 20 years. Avraham Tal
Avraham Tal (; born 28 November 1976) is an Israeli singer, musician, and musical producer. Tal was the lead singer and writer in the popular Israeli band "Shotei Hanevuah" () from 1998 until its breakup in 2007. Among the well-known songs which he wrote while in the band are "Mi" (Translation: Who) and "Kol Galgal" (Translation: Voice of a Wheel). Biography Avraham Tal was born Avraham Foinquinos Tal in Nir Moshe and grew up in Neve Ativ in the Golan Heights. His parents, Reine (born in Algiers) and Maurice (born in Morocco) both arrived in Marseilles, France as children and immigrated to Israel in the early 1970s. Tal's musical career began when he was 9 when he was injured in his eye and was hospitalized. Cherie and Renno, formerly known as Izabo (Hebrew: איזבו), are an Israeli duo that was formed in 1989. Their musical style is diverse, ranging from indie rock, disco and Middle Eastern music. Under the name Izabo, they represented Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, with the song "Time (Izabo song), Time". Biography Izabo was founded in Petah Tikva in 1989.
