Shota Shamatava
Shota Nikolaevich Shamatava (russian: Шота Николаевич Шаматава; 17 July 1936 – 28 October 2013) was an Abkhaz politician who served in the People's Assembly of Abkhazia from 1996 to 2002. A member of the second convocation of the People's Assembly, he was elected in the Chuburkhindji constituency (Constituency 33) in November 1996 after the citrus farm Apsny had nominated his candidacy. Prior to entering parliament, he had been mayor of the village of Okum in the Tkvarcheli District. The People's Assembly — Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia ( ab, Аҧсны Жәлар Реизара – Апарламент, ka, აფხაზეთის რესპუბლიკის სახალხო კრება, russian: Народное Собрание — Парламент Республики Абхазия) is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of Abkhazia. Composition The People's Assembly has 35 members, elected for five-year terms in single-seat constituencies. On 30 July 2015, Parliament failed to support a constitutional amendment increasing the number of members to 45 and introducing a mixed electoral system. Chuburkhindji

Tkvarcheli District
Tkvarcheli District ( ka, ტყვარჩელის რაიონი, ab, Тҟәарчал араион, russian: Ткварчелский район) is one of the districts of Abkhazia. It has no equivalent Georgian district, as it was newly formed in 1995 from parts of Ochamchira District and Gali District, centered on its eponymous capital, Tkvarcheli. The population of the district was 14,477 at the time of the 2003 census. By the 2011 census, it had increased to 16,012. Of note is Bedia Cathedral located within the district. Sukhumi
Sukhumi (russian: Суху́м(и), ) or Sokhumi ( ka, სოხუმი, ), also known by its Abkhaz name Aqwa ( ab, Аҟәа, ''Aqwa''), is a city in a wide bay on the Black Sea's eastern coast. It is both the capital and largest city of the Republic of Abkhazia, which has controlled it since the Abkhazia war in 1992–93. However, internationally Abkhazia is considered part of Georgia. The city, which has an airport, is a port, major rail junction and a holiday resort because of its beaches, sanatoriums, mineral-water spas and semitropical climate.
