Shoshana Borochov
Shoshana Borochov (; 9 September 1912 – 18 November 2004) was the daughter of Ber Borochov, one of the founders of socialist Zionism. For over a decade she was married to Thomas James Wilkin, an Assistant Superintendent in the Criminal Investigation Department of the Palestine Police, who was assassinated by the Lehi (militant group), Lehi on September 29, 1944. Biography Shoshana Borochov was the daughter of Zionist activist Ber Borochov and Lyuba, daughter of a Rabbi, rabbinic family who studied languages at Moscow State University. Borochov and his wife lived in Vienna in 1909-1914. Shoshana was born in Vienna during that time. In 1914, upon the outbreak of the World War I, First World War, the Borochovs fled to Italy, and from there they sailed to the United States. They lived in New York. Ber Borochov
Dov Ber Borochov (;  – 17 December 1917) was a Marxist Zionist and one of the founders of the Labor Zionist movement. He was also a pioneer in the study of the Yiddish language. Biography Dov Ber Borochov was born in the town of Zolotonosha, Russian Empire (now in Ukraine), and grew up in nearby Poltava. His mother and father were both teachers. As an adult he joined the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party but was expelled when he formed a Zionist Socialist Workers Union in Yekaterinoslav. After being arrested by the Russian authorities, he left for the United States. Subsequently, he helped form the Poale Zion (Workers of Zion) party and devoted his life to promoting the party in Russia, Europe, and America. When the Russian social democrats came to power, Borochov returned to Russia in March 1917 to lead the Poale Zion. He became ill and died in Kiev of pneumonia in December 1917.
