Shopping (1994 Film)
''Shopping'' is a 1994 British action crime drama film written and directed by Paul Anderson, in his directorial debut, about a group of British teenagers who indulge in joyriding and ramraiding. It was the first major leading role for actor Jude Law, who first met his co-star and future wife Sadie Frost on the set of the film. Plot Billy is released from prison, but the police are sure he will be back. And indeed as soon as his girlfriend picks him up they ram & steal a BMW, leading to an extensive chase, with Billy taunting the police to catch him. Joyride (crime)
Joyriding is driving or riding in a stolen vehicle, most commonly a car, with no particular goal other than the pleasure or thrill of doing so or to impress other people. The term "joy riding" was coined by a New York judge in 1908. Joyriders often act opportunistically and choose easy targets (key-on-ignition while shopping, neighbor's car...). Like other car thieves, they can also gain access to locked cars with a flathead screwdriver and a slide hammer, although modern cars have systems to prevent a screwdriver from opening locks. Locks in cars manufactured before the early to mid-1990s were very weak and could be opened easily. The vehicle is started by either hot-wiring or breaking the ignition lock. Ignition systems were much less sophisticated before the early to mid-1990s and easier to bypass. Smith & Mighty are an English trip hop group from Bristol, England, consisting of Rob Smith, Ray Mighty and Peter D Rose. They pioneered the Bristol sound producing Massive Attack's "Any Love". The Bristol sound being a precursor to trip hop. As well as producing for others, they produced their own work, and various solo projects and collaborations. Biography In the late 1980s, they produced their first releases; were breakbeat covers of " Anyone Who Had a Heart" and " Walk On By". Both songs entered the UK Singles Chart. They produced Massive Attack's first single, "Any Love" released in 1988. In 1989, they produced " Wishing on a Star" for Fresh 4, a group consisting of Paul Southey (Suv), Krust, Judge and Flynn Thompson. Chris Constantinou is an English musician, best known as the bass guitarist and backing vocalist for Adam Ant.
