Shooting At The 2018 Asian Games
Shooting sports, Shooting at the 2018 Asian Games was held at the Jakabaring Sport City, Jakabaring Shooting Range, Palembang, Indonesia. It was held from 19 to 26 August 2018. Dispatched the highest number of athletes, China won the most medals with 15, as well as most gold and silver medals. South Korea won the most bronze medals. Hosts Indonesia, despite playing with the second-highest number of athletes, failed to win any gold or bronze; they won only one silver medal. Jakabaring Sport City
Jakabaring Sport City ''(sic)'', also known as Jakabaring Sports Complex () is an integrated sports facility complex in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The complex is located 5 kilometers southeast of Palembang city center, across the Musi River (Indonesia), Musi river by the Ampera Bridge in Jakabaring, Seberang Ulu I area. It was the main venue of the 2011 Southeast Asian Games, the 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games, the 2014 ASEAN University Games, the 2017 Asian Triathlon Championship and the 2018 Asian Games. Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, one of the largest stadiums in Indonesia, is located within this complex. Facilities The sports complex was built to host 2004 Pekan Olahraga Nasional, an Indonesian national multi-sport event in which athletes from 34 Indonesian provinces participated. is a Japanese sport shooter. Matsuda represented Japan at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where he got 8th place in the 50 m pistol event and 18th place in the 10 m air pistol event. Saurabh Chaudhary (born 12 May 2002) is an Indian sport shooter who specializes in the 10 metre air pistol event. He rose to fame after clinching the gold medal in the 10 m air pistol event at the 2018 Asian Games, becoming the youngest Indian ever to win an Asian Games gold at just 16 years old. Chaudhary has won gold medals at major international competitions, including the World Championships, World Cup, Youth Olympic Games, Asian Games and Asian Championships. He set a world junior record with a score of 246.3 in the 10 m air pistol category in 2019, a record he still holds as of 2025. In recognition of his achievements, he was honored with the Arjuna Award in 2020, India’s second-highest sporting distinction.
