Barry Buddon Shooting Centre
Barry Buddon Training Area is a Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom), Ministry of Defence-owned rifle range and training area in Barry, Angus, Scotland, which runs adjacent to Carnoustie Golf Links and the Dundee–Aberdeen line, Dundee - Aberdeen railway Line. History Barry Buddon dates back to around 1850 when the area was used by the Forfarshire Rifle Volunteers, the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry, the Panmure Battery of the Forfarshire Artillery Brigade, and a Royal Naval Reserve Battery. In 1897 the Arthur Ramsay, 14th Earl of Dalhousie, Earl of Dalhousie sold the site to the War Office for use as a military training area. The training area covers 2,300 acres (930 hectares), of which 600 acres (240 hectares) is intertidal zone. The camp was expanded in the late 1990s and has accommodation for 507. Elena Allen (née Bogdanova; born 12 July 1972) is a British sport shooter. She represented Wales in the Commonwealth Games in 2014, winning the silver medal, having previously won bronze for England at the 2006 Games. She competed for Team GB at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and has been chosen once more to compete at the 2016 Games. Andri Eleftheriou (born 19 June 1984) is a Cypriot sport shooter, and a member of the women's national shooting team of Cyprus. Eleftheriou was born in Limassol. In 2006, she won the skeet shooting gold medal at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games. She has also won silver at the 2006 ISSF World Cup in Germany, gold at the 2007 World Cup in Belgrade, Gold at the 2008 World Cup final in Minsk, and placed seventh in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Lauryn Annyn Mark (née Ogilvie, born April 15, 1980, in Los Gatos, California, United States) is an American Australian Olympic Women's Skeet shooter. She finished fourth in Women's Skeet in the 2004 Summer Olympics and won three gold medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Lauryn Mark is a licensed Class 'A' International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) shotgun coach.
