Shoot (football Magazine)
''Shoot'' (often written ''Shoot!''), or ''Shoot Monthly'', was a Football (soccer), football magazine published in United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Britain between 1969 and 2008. It later became a monthly, before reverting to a weekly, and is now in digital form only, via a website. Content Each edition featured a two-page colour centrefold photo of a team, and several other glossy colour photographs of players from the top teams, usually but not exclusively in the Football League First Division, First Division and, later, the Premier League. The magazine also had a "Focus On" feature that, along with the colour photo of a player, asked him to reveal some basic biographical information as well as some personal information, such as his favourite entertainer or his least favourite opponent. Paul Trevillion
Paul Trevillion (born 11 March 1934) is a sports artist, whose career spans over 70 years. Born in Tottenham, North London, Trevillion, produced artwork for publications like ''Eagle'' while still at school, from the 1960s to the 1980s. Trevillion designed and illustrated pieces for ''Daily Mirror'', ''Daily Express'', ''The Sun'', ''The Daily Telegraph'', ''The Times'', and ''TV Century 21'' and in 2006 revived his cult football cartoon '' You Are The Ref'' - made famous by football magazine '' Shoot!'' in the 1970s - for ''The Observer''. Pedigree Dolls & Toys, also known as Pedigree Toys, is a toy company located in Exeter, England. Best known for launching the Sindy doll in 1963, Pedigree also produced the Tommy Gunn action figure from 1966 to 1968. The Sindy doll was very popular from the 1960s to 1980s, and accounted for 80% of Pedigree's sales. Pedigree was a subsidiary of Lines Bros, then became a subsidiary of Dunbee-Combex-Marx. After Dunbee's collapse in 1980, Pedigree and several other Dunbee subsidiaries moved to the holding company Tamwade. In March 1982, Pedigree closed its factory in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. ''You Are The Ref'' is a British comic strip which has run in various publications since 1957, featuring a series of improbable hypothetical football scenarios that then invites the reader to make the refereeing decision. Created by sports artist Paul Trevillion, also famous for ''Roy of the Rovers'', the strip features contributions from several top referees, and was collected into an official book in 2006.
