''Shook'' is the fourth studio album by American experimental band Algiers. It was released through Matador Records on February 24, 2023. The single "Irreversible Damage", featuring Zack de la Rocha, was released in October 2022. Production "Something Wrong?" is about a traffic stop involving a Black driver. A sample from "Subway Theme", by Grand Wizzard Theodore, appears on "Everybody Shatter". Samuel T. Herring sings on "I Can’t Stand It!" Backxwash appears on "Bite Back". Several tracks are spoken word pieces. Critical reception ''Shook'' was well-received by music critics. Algiers is an American-English post-punk band from Atlanta, Georgia, United States, formed in 2012. The band consists of multi-instrumentalists Franklin James Fisher, Ryan Mahan, Lee Tesche, and Matt Tong. Algiers pulls from a divergent number of musical (and nonmusical) influences; the most notable of which being post-punk, Hip hop music, hip-hop, Southern Gothic literature, and the concept of Other (philosophy), the Other. Their sound has been described as dystopian soul music, soul due to its somber mood, afrofolk inspired vocal approach, and heavy emphasis on atonal textures. Boy Harsher is an American electronic music group, formed in 2013 in Savannah, Georgia. Currently based in Northampton, Massachusetts, the band consists of vocalist Jae Matthews and producer Augustus Muller. The band has amassed a cult following since their formation, and their song "Pain" has become an underground music, underground Hit song, hit. Matthews and Muller own and run the label Nude Club, which is exclusively devoted to Boy Harsher and related artists. History Knowing each other from film school in Savannah, Muller and Matthews started the project Teen Dreamz in 2013, which acted as a precursor to Boy Harsher. The project consisted of Matthews performing her spoken word pieces and Muller providing a musical backing. Billy Woods (stylized as billy woods) is an American rapper based in New York. He is also the founder of the record label Backwoodz Studioz. Woods has been a member of Armand Hammer, Super Chron Flight Brothers, and The Reavers. Early life Billy Woods was born in Washington, D.C. His mother was an English literature professor from Jamaica. His father was a PhD Marxist writer, active in the Zimbabwe War of Liberation and then member of the government in Zimbabwe. In 1980, the family moved to Zimbabwe. After the death of Woods' father, they returned to the United States in 1989. Ruben Bailey (born September 27, 1969, Atlanta, Georgia), professionally known by his stage name Big Rube, is an American spoken word artist, rapper and hip hop producer. He is a first-generation member of the Dungeon Family and of Society of Soul. ''Fear of a Black Planet'' is the third studio album by American hip hop group Public Enemy. "Public enemy" is a term which was first widely used in the United States in the 1930s to describe individuals whose activities were seen as criminal and extremely damaging to society, though the phrase had been used for centuries to describe pirates, vikings, highwaymen, bandits, mobsters, and similar outlaws. Weighted Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. The notion of weighted mean plays a role in descriptive statistics and also occurs in a more general form in several other areas of mathematics. If all the weights are equal, then the weighted mean is the same as the arithmetic mean.
