Shoe-throwing
Shoe-throwing showing the sole of one's shoe or using shoes to insult are forms of protest in many parts of the world. Shoe-throwing as an insult dates back to ancient times, being mentioned in verse 8 of Psalm 60 and the similar verse 9 of Psalm 108 in the Old Testament. Modern incidents where shoes were thrown at political figures have taken place in Australia, India, Ireland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and most notably the Arab world. Posters of former U.S. President George W. Bush's face have long appeared through the Middle East with shoes attached to them, and some people have called former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice ''kundara'', meaning "shoe". Bush Shoeing Incident
On 14 December 2008, Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi removed his shoes and threw them at United States president George W. Bush during a joint press conference with Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad, Iraq. Bush quickly ducked, avoiding being hit by either shoe. The second shoe collided with a Flag of the United States, U.S. flag positioned behind Bush. Al-Zaidi was subsequently grabbed, kicked, and removed from the room by Security guard, security. Muntadhar Al-Zaidi
Muntadhar al-Zaidi (; born 15 January 1979) is an Iraqi broadcast journalism, broadcast journalist who served as a correspondent for Iraqi-owned, Egypt-based Al-Baghdadia TV. , al-Zaidi works with a Lebanon, Lebanese TV channel. On 16 November 2007, al-Zaidi was kidnapped by unknown assailants in Baghdad. He was also previously twice arrested by the United States Armed Forces. Agha Javed Pathan
Agha Javed Pathan (Urdu: ) was a political activist from Sindh, Pakistan, who practiced as a doctor in Karachi. He was accused of throwing a shoe at Arbab Ghulam Rahim (former Chief Minister of Sindh Province) in April 2008. He was accused of hitting Arbab during his first visit to Sindh Assembly after the 2008 general election . Later Agha Javed was arrested and subsequently released due to a lack of evidence. Arbab Ghulam Rahim (; born 1 January 1957) is a senior Pakistani politician who served as the Chief Minister of the Government of Sindh from 2004 until 2007. The Limigantes is a name applied to a population that lived by the Tisza river, in Banat, in the 4th century.
