Kazue Shōda
was a Japanese statesman in the Meiji and Taishō periods. Biography Shōda was born in Matsuyama Domain, Iyo Province on October 19 1869, as the 5th son of a poor ''samurai''. The poet Masaoka Shiki and admiral Akiyama Saneyuki were his friends from childhood. He graduated from Tokyo Imperial University in 1895, and obtained a position at the Ministry of Finance. In 1915, he rose to the position of president of the Bank of Chōsen. He was appointed Finance Minister under the Terauchi and Kiyoura administrations, Metzler, ''Lever of Empire''. Page 147 and Education Minister under the Tanaka administration. Kenjiro Shoda
Kenjiro Shoda ( Japanese: 正田 建次郎 ''Shōda Kenjirō''; February 25, 1902 – March 20, 1977) was a Japanese mathematician. Early life and career Kenjiro Shoda was born on February 25, 1902, in Tatebayashi, Gunma to a wealthy family. He was the second son of Teiichiro Shoda, who was the founder of Nisshin Seifun Group, one of the biggest companies in Japan, a member of the House of Peers, and a great-grandfather of the Emperor. He was educated in Tokyo until he finished junior high school. He went to the National Eighth High School in Nagoya, today succeeded to Faculty of Liberal Arts of Nagoya University. After Shoda finished the Eighth High School, he returned to Tokyo and studied mathematics at Imperial University of Tokyo. Shoda was supervised by Teiji Takagi, one of the best mathematicians in Japan at that time, and Takagi inspired Shoda to study algebra. Shinoe Shōda
was a Japanese poet and author known for her atomic bomb literature. Biography Shōda was born in Etajima, Hiroshima, Etajima in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1910. Around 1920 her family moved to Ujina, Japan, Ujina, just outside Hiroshima, and in 1925 she enrolled in a Jōdo Shinshū girls' high school, graduating in 1929. In the late 1920s, she started publishing poetry in Kōran, a monthly literary magazine. Shōda married engineer Takamoto Suematsu and the two had a son, Shin'ichirō. In 1940 her husband died and in 1945 her family home was destroyed, forcing the family to move into the city of Hiroshima. On August 6, 1945, the city was devastated by the Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, atomic bomb attack. Shōda's home at that time was only two kilometers from ground zero. By February of the next year, her father had died of intestinal cancer and later her son also fell ill.
