Miyoshi, Hiroshima
is a city located in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on March 31, 1954. As of May 2017, the city has an estimated population of 53,616 and a population density of 69 persons per km2. The total area is 778 km2. On April 1, 2004, Miyoshi absorbed the towns of Kisa, Mirasaka and Miwa, the villages of Funo, Kimita and Sakugi (all from Futami District), and the town of Kōnu (from Kōnu District) to create the new and expanded city of Miyoshi. is a JR West Geibi Line station located in Ibara, Shiraki-chō, Asakita-ku, Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The "Shiwa" in the name derives from the nearby Shiwa-chō, Higashihiroshima, despite there being no shuttle bus or other connection between the two locations. is a railway station in Miyoshi, Hiroshima, Japan, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). Along with Niimi and Tsuyama Stations, Miyoshi is one of the major central region stations in the Chūgoku region of Japan. Lines Miyoshi Station is served by the Geibi Line and Fukuen Line, and is the terminal station for the Fukuen Line. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks.
