Shiodome Legend (1997)
Shiodome Legend (1997) was the fifth and final Summer Spectacular and second Shiodome Legend professional wrestling television event produced by Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW). The event took place on August 2, 1997 at Shiodome in Tokyo, Japan and aired on Samurai TV!. The main event was a no ropes exploding barbed wire deathmatch between Masato Tanaka and W*ING Kanemura for the right to face Atsushi Onita in the main event of Kawasaki Legend: Fall Spectacular. Kanemura won the match and earned a match against Onita at Fall Spectacular, which stipulated that if Kanemura lost, W*ING Alliance would disband. Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling
Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling is a Japanese professional wrestling promotion founded on July 28, 1989, by Atsushi Onita as (FMW). The promotion specializes in hardcore wrestling involving weapons such as barbed wire and fire. They held their first show on October 6, 1989. In the late 1990s, FMW had a brief working agreement with Extreme Championship Wrestling, and as well had 14 DVDs released in the U.S. by Tokyopop. On March 4, 2015, FMW was resurrected under the name . With the resurrected FMW not holding any events since 2018, Onita announced in 2021 that he would be starting Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling-Explosion in which the promotion would specialize in exploding death matches. Hideki Hosaka
(August 5, 1971 – August 2, 2021) was a Japanese professional wrestler, who is best known for his work in Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Zero-One. Career Early career (1991–1993) An amateur wrestler in his scholastic years, he enrolled in Submission Arts Wrestling in May 1990. After over a year of training (including a dark match for Fighting Network RINGS in May 1991), he joined Wrestling International New Generations (W*ING) in August 1991. In W*ING he trained with wrestlers including The Great Wojo, TNT, and Mr. Pogo. In 1992, he left W*ING and joined the Takano Brothers' Pro Wrestling Crusaders, under the ring name Benkei. Fall Spectacular: Kawasaki Legend was a Fall Spectacular professional wrestling event produced by Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW). The event took place on September 28, 1997 at the Kawasaki Stadium in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan. The show aired via tape delay on Samurai TV! on October 12. The main event was a No Ropes Exploding Barbed Wire Steel Cage Time Bomb Death Match between Atsushi Onita and W*ING Kanemura, which stipulated that if Onita lost, he must retire from professional wrestling and if Kanemura lost, then W*ING Alliance would have to disband. Onita won, forcing W*ING to disband. After the event, Onita formed a bonding with W*ING members and quit FMW team in sympathy and formed ZEN with W*ING members to feud with FMW. Hisakatsu Oya
Kenichi Oya (大矢健一) (born July 2, 1964) is a semi-retired Japanese professional wrestler, better known by his ring name Hisakatsu Oya (大矢剛功). Although he started out for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, he is well known for his stint in Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling. Career New Japan Pro-Wrestling (1986–1989) Kenichi Oya trained at the NJPW Dojo. He made his wrestling debut in April 1986, against Masahiro Chono. During his tenure in New Japan, Oya also teamed with the likes of Kensuke Sasaki and Osamu Matsuda. However, due to injuries, he retired in 1989. was a Japanese professional wrestler, stage actor, musician and professional wrestling promoter, better known under the ring name . He was best known for his time with Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW), where he primarily wrestled throughout his career and was the franchise player of the company between 1995 and 2001. Ezaki initially competed for FMW as a low-carder between 1991 and 1993 before travelling to Mexico where he developed the "Hayabusa" character and his signature wrestling style during his time with lucha libre organizations. He returned to FMW in 1995 and received a significant push as the face of the company, winning his first Brass Knuckles Heavyweight Championship later that year. Michael Lee Alfonso (January 24, 1965 – February 17, 2007) was an American professional wrestler.
