Shimoga
Shimoga, officially Shivamogga, is a city and the district headquarters of Shimoga district in the Karnataka state of India. The city lies on the banks of the Tunga River. Being the gateway for the hilly region of the Western Ghats, the city is popularly nicknamed the "Gateway of Malnad". The population of Shimoga city is 322,650 as per 2011 census. Ayanur Manjunath
Ayanur Manjunatha (born 14 November 1955) is an Indian politician. He is a member of Rajya Sabha from Karnataka State for the term Jul 2010- July 2016. He was a member of Janata Dal (Secular). He was member of 12th Lok Sabha from Shimoga and defeated Sarekoppa Bangarappa of Congress. Earlier during 1994-98 he was Member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He had studied B.A., LL.B. at Sahyadri College at Shivamogga in Karnataka. Ayanur Manjunath resigned from MLC and also from primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party on 19 April 2023. The 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election was held on 12 May 2018 in 222 constituencies to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election
The 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election was held on 5 May 2013 to elect members from 223 constituencies in the Indian state of Karnataka. The election for the Piriyapatna constituency was postponed to 28 May 2013 due to the death of the BJP candidate for the seat. The voter turnout in the state was 70.23%. 2008 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election
The 2008 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election took place in three phases on 10, 16 and 22 May 2008 in all the 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka, India. The elections were conducted to elect a Government in the state of Karnataka for the next five years.
